185 HDB carpark gantries affected

The Housing and Development Board (HDB) said about 185 or 10 per cent of carparks in HDB estates have been hit by the global IT outage.

"Contingency plans were activated, and the barrier arms of the affected parking gantries were lifted to allow motorists to enter and exit the carparks expeditiously," HDB said.

It added that staff from the affected carpark operator have been deployed to provide in-person assistance to motorists.

Which champion thought it was a good idea to roll out an update on a Friday?

Something to be learned here - not to do anything drastic a day before the weekend or you could possibly not have a weekend at all
