Same logic with my chain smoker uncle. Many advised him to quit. He refused. Saying it is his problem, die then die lor. Till he was warded for a minor heart attack with clogged arteries. Then he stopped over night. 
such people 不见棺材不落泪。 

He was waist deep in the coffin then he woke up! 🤣 anyway he is still alive after this scare 30years ago.
