Ya... not gone back to Wearnes after warranty... their robert knife is sharp..

Since diesels are now strongly discouraged, I thought might as well go Electric... and Polestar looks kind of nice...then I saw Wearnes is the dealer...πŸ˜…

If only EVs can be serviced/repaired outside.. or modded😁

If you don't go back to the AD, can you still enjoy the battery warranty on the EV?

That's the main concern.. and question. I suppose EV can't be serviced or repaired like ICE.

Essentially one is likely stuck with the AD unless they open up to 3rd party workshop?

I also don't believe they will collapse.. they banking on their P3/P4 to boost sales.

Anyway got Zeekr alternative if you like a Polestar.

This is very interesting bro

i wonder if you can consider battery costs

your BYD battery costs 30k and the Prius battery costs 8-10k

of course some will say it’s unlikely but does that make the running cost different?

we haven’t added maintenance costs but it should be higher for the corolla even if the buyer scrimps on maintenanceΒ

I am not quite as concerned with battery health as most EV comes with 8 years battery warranty these days. At year 9, there is little value beyond scrap anyway. Just like ICE car, can have expensive drivetrain issues as well.

If scare, buy Tesla with proven track record (who also buys batteries from BYD, so it has probably pass the professional test). Β

If it is any comfort, Tesla taxi with 700,000 km mileage still going strong (battery health of 72%).Β

Yes, you can. But hor, which workshop outside other than AD is willing to touch an EV?Β πŸ˜…

I will suggest Solar to just check directly with Polestar on how much they charge for each servicing interval. I don't think its super expensive considering not much is being done anyway 🀣

Just to share, when I asked Volvo for details, this is their answer.

  1. Replacement of Cabin Filter
  2. Replacement of Brake Fluid
  3. Replacement of Reservoir sealing fluid
  4. Service 2.0 SW Download, Battery Status Check
  5. Cleaning inside windscreen in front of camera for cars with Collision Warning

3 is a bit lame as its just that bottle of tyre sealant which has an expiry date of 2 years, as all new cars don't have spare tyre anymore.

4 also a bit lame as software I can update myself thru OTA anyway.Β

5 i guess is just precautionary for the forward facing camera for autonomous braking upon obstacle detection.Β

The Chinese also believe in their property markets thus most PRC dump their life saving into mainland properties all believing it is always a one way direction πŸ˜‚
