Actually they don’t need to even physically touch your car. All the data transmitted to LTA cloud. Just key in vehicle plate and SMLJ for the last few year all out. Also cannot deny car never go to that area. If they can also tag cellphone data to car location also very difficult to deny you are driving liao.
then payment apps used at a store. Lagi track and corner you until no choice but to confess. In SG, ah kong is forever watching.

Actually just your phone data is enough. SPF can track every single mobile number with an SG SIM card. If you connect your phone via Bluetooth to your car that's enough for them to find you already.

Neutral Newbie

You're right, car data isn't like an airplane black box. It likely contains user data for identification, not real-time speed.  SPF might have used this to confirm the driver if speeding was detected elsewhere. Ideally, modern cars should allow purging user data before impound.  For dashcams, destroying the SD card is a faster option.

Maybe didn't furnish the driver's details to TP.... So must find out who was driving the car

Expand

Didn't furnish driver's detail automatically assumed or default the registered owner is the driver.

The pandora's box has been opened. They can now bring down the GST to 0% immediately, all they need to do is to download all the data from all vehicles for speeding violations. Starting with all vehicles where price >$500k, imagine how much money can be raked in. Its very possible for a sports car, any car for that matter, to have 1,000 speeding offenses if not more

Maybe the T-brand .

Your Tesla Is Watching–and Recording–You All the Time

From logging location and speed to snapping video of locations and bystanders, every Tesla is a mobile data mine.

https://lamag.com/business/tesla-recording-data-privacy#:~:text=Well%2C in the case of,car gets charged%2C and more.

"....Well, in the case of Tesla drivers that is literally–maybe even shockingly–true. Every car from the brand has been capturing data about how the vehicles are used from the beginning. The data collected includes milage, speed, every location and time at which the car gets charged, and more

....Many modern cars are able to send certain bits of operational data back to the companies that built them, but as Axios reported this week, Tesla's data gathering is particularly extensive."

@Inlinefour Is the car a tesla? Which cars come with GPS built in so as to track your speed and location?

Expand

Most new cars have some form of location tracker. But even if not, just your smartphone alone is enough to find you liao.

@Benarsenal The article mentioned extracting information from the car. Not sure if Toyota/Honda/Hyundai/Nissan have location tracking built in. Smartphones not conclusive because she was charged for driving. You can be a passenger not the driver.
