Hi,

Does anyone knows what is the optimised settings for the dash cam esp on the battery protection voltage, and motion detector?

My car battery just failed, when I checked back the dash cam SDCARD, i saw there were many motion detection recording at the MSCP until the car battery fails. The recording is like every minute!

I think this is the second time the battery drained by the dash cam motion detection. Previously before I change to the current battery, the old dash cam F750 recording also shows a lot of recording triggered by motion at the car park and drained the previous car battery.

Being an OPC, the car is park in the MSCP most of the time, so lesser time to start and charge back the battery and keep draining by the dash cam.

I have set the dash cam car battery threshold to 12v and the motion detection to LOW. should I just set the motion detection to off?

THanks

I suggest that you get a large capacity battery pack like Neo Cellink or your dashcam. It has much longer duration for dashcam in standby mode.

I think can set a min voltage before it will cut off all recording.

If your apps u can find that setting set to 12.2 v to be safe.

On the voltage protection, what is the current cut-off voltage?

it was set to 12V

Set it to 13v.  See whether it will flat or not.

Change cam. Now 70mai A810 is cheap and good. 4K resolution to allow one to capture all offenses.

Actually no point. Such external battery require driving at least 1-2 hours a day to fully charge, in which the battery can only last about 24-48 hours of recording.

Since OP is driving an OPC, OP is unlikely to clock this amount of driving to recharge fully.

In addition, the battery pack will have wear and tear over the years. Some will spoil after 1-2 years, some will not retain their original capacity. I used to have one by Marbella - it spoilt after 13 months plus zzz

actually such battery pack with installation easily cost few hundred dollars and need to do a replacement after few years. I find it no point to have, eventually such amount spent can easily cover the cost of repair even in a hit and run or mischief scenario during parking. Not forgetting the hassle of finding the culprit and the subsequent claim.

If I am at home ground carpark, i will pull out the adaptor from the camera. This is because i know the drivers in my estate are pretty decent. So far no funny behaviors. Once am out of homeground, it is always power on thru celllink.

Since it’s a MSCP, get a portable jumpstarter to keep in car.

The shop set my i-Drive cam to 12.3V which is the highest.

+1

I'm using A800S and it's always on (not even parking mode cuz I'm not using the 70mai wiring kit but a previous dashcam voltage regulator). My last car battery last >3.5years before I replaced it this January.

I got a jump starter cable in my car trunk cos I've been begging a few times from my neighbour in the same car park to jump start my car during the past few battery failure... sui sui that day I parked head in!  LL lo... zzZZ

Don’t trouble others la. Jumpstart cable is so passé.

A portable jumpstarter is not ex nowadays like 70mai or Baseus.

Neutral Newbie

Consider setting your dash cam's battery protection voltage higher to 12.2V or above to optimize performance. For motion detection, adjust sensitivity or explore parking mode options like low-power settings to conserve battery, ensuring reliable surveillance with minimal drain, akin to using a Mauricette Calculator.
