I think the 2nd goal from Salah was a sublime, it is not as easy as it looks.

Not a match for the faint-hearted,  but great that it was a win.

Southampton 2 - 3 Liverpool FC

MASSIVE THREE POINTS! We took the lead but allowed them back through a dubious penalty (replay shows it’s outside the box).

Then some sloppy play allowed them to lead. That seems to galvanize us and Salah with 2 goals to seal the win.

Not the prettiest of performances (typical sloppy game after International week) but, importantly, gets the job done!

We are 8 pts clear on top. Next up, we welcome RM at Anfield in the UCL!

YNWA.

Goal poacher instinct.. plus well timed run...

We looked like Klopp team after going 2-1 down... once we equalize..Slot team appeared. Slot's team has won so far this season after taking the lead plus not conceding in last 15min of the game...

RM Game can relax - We have a bigger fish to fry - Man C next game at Home - Win it ! Title is within Grasp !!!

Think Slot is taking 1 game at a time... resting Macca and Diaz after their exertions with their national teams. Slot also start Robbo and keep Tsimikas fresh for RM.

hard fought win...  no easy game in the EPL.  top v bottom but it was almost an upset.

Salah demonstrated his value to the team yet again. It is only November and he is in double digits in goals and assists.  Why would any other team on this planet not give him the contract extension?

Robbo is becoming a liability.  VVD got the team in trouble but Robbo's tackle on the edge of box was unnecessary. If you look at the second goal, it was again his error or judgment as he being the last man of defence, become suck into whereever the ball was going... in the end, it was schoolball defending and Pool conceded again. The 2 goals conceded was down to Pool's errors.

But the main difference in the game was ultimately who made more errors. Saints committed 1 more than Pool. The rest is history and Pool prevailed with the precious 3 points. Even if it draws with City, it is still 8 points ahead which is a massive lead at this level.

The trend continues. No need to repeat what i've been saying for months, and ultimately just glad for the three points, and for my blood pressure not shooting up.

Saints keeper McCathy must be v old now. i remember - clearly - that maybe >10 yr ago when he was with, was it Reading, just blocked everything that Pool threw at them at Anfield, and they also scored an unlikely goal and eventually won. There were tons of shots on target and he was a possessed person that day, keeping every shot (many v good ones) out... which is why i still remember him.

So last night when he stopped the few shots from Gakpo, Salah, etc. at the beginning, i was like... shit, history pls dun repeat itself... lucky Pool managed to score a few, and he prob felt he maybe should gift Pool (or Salah) a goal back for breaking Pool's heart that years ago...

Next is RM. Not the most important game, but would be really nice to get one back over RM, after all the heartbreaks against them in the last ~decade. After that then think about City. Just hope City will continue its bad spell and lose the next league match 🤭

To be honest, for the first 60 mins or so, we lost most of the midfield battles. It was only after the introduction of MacAllister and Diaz that we started having the upper hand. At the end of the day, it was a hard fought victory and Southampton played like men not wanting to lose any points.
