Good to lead the table by 5 points at this stage. But the Dec city visit will be the acid test. Beat them and this is almost certainly a great season...

Not to splash cold water, but amid the euphoria, do remember that villa had 3 good chances to score wheen just a goal down... kelleher really saved the team... when nunez couldn't pull the team further ahead...

Then Bradley so inexperienced did risky acts that another referee could have awarded penalties against pool...

Lastly, Mo's nail in the coffin for villa, had a huge element of luck. The villa defender must be cursing his own luck that his header aimed right at mo's head n resulted in a perfect pass to let mo run towards goal with himself so far away...

For all of villa's threats at corners, these also proved to be their own weakness which allowed pool to exploit to perfection.

Now to hope international break will not bring injuries, and TAA n Jota recover fast...

I read from some UK forum. Salah is staying back at anfield for the international break.

Some source (not verified) salah demanded two yesrs contract. No mention of pay scale.

Let's hope he appreciates Pool as the club that brought him redemption in English soccer, and in the process elevating him to international stardom, and make it easy/possible to arrive at a mutually acceptable extension.

Supercharged

Pool is doing every bit to pull away and build a healthy lead.  It is doing all it can in this period where the 2 other contenders are struggling.  City lost 4 straight games which is is something Pep never experienced. Arsenal no win in 5 games.

The best part is that both of these teams are not only not winning games, they are playing poorly and the results matches their performance. Will remain in such poor form for the rest of the season.. given the quality of their squad and experiences, i wouldnt bet against it.

Pool hasn't faced any tough spell yet under Slot. in this league, it is a matter of when not whether. So the mettle of the team and how the team picks itself up in the mud is what will set the club to be worthy winner in a long grueling season.

Jan window Liverpool should sign Zubimendi.

We wanted him and stop City signing him to replace Rodri.

No Rodri no wins at City.

Hmm, I chose to look at it the other way. Pool has been average so far, only the opponents are below par, especially the perceived Title Contenders.

If the fsg does nothing, I have to boycott them until they get out of the club …

I will root for the team quietly.. off to an awesome start by our usual standards… pls continue to pile on wins…

No we know why we keep getting bad ref decisions.

Premier League referee David Coote has been suspended pending a full investigation after a video was circulated on social media which appeared to show him making disparaging remarks about Liverpool and their former manager Jürgen Klopp.

Two clips were posted on an account on X in which Coote is apparently sat on a sofa next to an unidentified male, who asks questions about Liverpool and Klopp.

If the video is verified as being genuine, Coote -- who was the referee for Liverpool's 2-0 win at home to Aston Villa on Saturday -- would appear to have no future as a top-flight referee. There will be no further update from PGMOL, the refereeing body for English football, until the investigation has been completed, but Coote will be unavailable for selection as a referee or a VAR during this time.

Coote, 42, has been a Premier League referee since 2018 and took charge of the 2024 Carabao Cup final between Manchester United and Newcastle, He was a FIFA-listed official between 2020 and 2022.

While not on a UEFA list as a referee, he has, alongside Stuart Attwell, been a lead VAR and was appointed to Euro 2024.

It is unclear when the video was filmed, but there is reference to Coote being fourth official on a Liverpool game earlier in the day and COVID social distancing.

When asked about Liverpool's performance in the game, Coote replies "Liverpool were s---."

Who is the ref that elbowed Robbo?

Any video of him?

Should be worse than Coote too.

From the ref decisions and VAR can tell they have something against Liverpool and Klopp.

Can see a change they don't hate Slot so much.
