Jamesc Hypersonic May 26, 2024 Share May 26, 2024 Good news: Atalanta president opens door to £50m Teun Koopmeiners transfer Bad news: Chelsea also wants him. Good news: Chelsea no manager allowing us to swoop in. Bad news: Chelsea manager no say and its Todd that buys players. And how does football expert Todd know which player to buy? He just see the papers who Liverpool is looking at. If he reads we want Mickey Mouse, Todd will be on the phone to Disney with a higher offer! ↡ Advertisement

We offer 100k 5 year contract and Todd offers 250k over 8 years. I also sign for Todd because guaranteed to play. Poch plays academy players that are good like Conor Gallagher and Trevor Chalabah and he kenna sacked because he never play Todd expensive signings.

Can't blame them... Anyway Chelsea idea of giving a longer contract was not just to spread the transfer fee over more years... they believe the player need to sign an 8 yr contract if the club wants the player for 5 years. This is probably to prevent the player leaving for free. Good idea but the danger is signing a sick bay regular like Ox or Keita type... imagine if the players always injured during transfer window, it's almost impossible to sell.

I only talk about sell... sell... sell... and who to sell depends on who they can recruit from outside... Jamesc Hypersonic May 26, 2024 Share May 26, 2024 If Barca cannot afford 75m for Luis Diaz then PSG has no problem. They want him to replace Kylian Mbappe. Either way 75m will help us rebuild. Summerville and Bakayoko for one Luis Diaz.
Jamesc Hypersonic May 26, 2024 Share May 26, 2024 (edited) Leeds did not get into PL so have to sell Summerville to balance the books. Free for us to swoop in. Thanks to Russell Crowe leading South Ham Chops into PL. Edited May 26, 2024 by Jamesc

The long contract isn't really as precaution for player to leave on free. I read from various financial experts(football pundits) the long contract is to amortise the player as costs over a longer tenure so as to bring down annual costs according to FFP rules. The high transfer fees and high salary offered. On the profit side. Chelsea need to sell player that has zero costs. That group come from selling chelsea very own academy players. The one reason Pochettino was sacked a few days back was because he wanted to keep the main core academy players. He wanted more say in the transfer market. Last season and coming season Chelsea won't be in champion league (next season only europa). No in coming funds from champion league. To balance the lack of profits Chelsea football club sold two London properties (hotel) to their owners. Todd boehley and another chairman (couldn't remember the name).

The high transfer fees and high salary offered. Yup. The long contract was primarily for amortization. Amortization is now capped at 5 years. Boehly says : "To be able to lay the groundwork, you have to be able to start with the stability on the team, by having a young team that has longer than average contracts. The reality is in European football, if you're on a seven-year contract, the way we look at it is really it's a five-year contract, right? https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/todd-boehly-opens-1bn-chelsea-203440334.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAHOPi1zbuDIvVwnat3tyAafr3pOoKpoZrw0lTxfcf8GLHea1EIZ6RSkM9uljcjYL-5mSuOPfOO5HGAMJNT9T-8dwiQLcxlnZxHYipwroJQxegGd2-JN6NypW-EEID_B-9FNDF7Vj6Dnm2I4wXX4nT7NkdPX0F4M0ZmUm_TAcl32o

New comers always tries to impress his employer with stats, sweet talks, .... etc. to show that they get the right person for the job. I will only judge him after 10 matches of new season which should be enough to gauge if he really suitable Head Coach for Liverpool. 10 matches doesn't include friendlies before 2024/25 season start.
Maxus-MIFA9 Supersonic May 28, 2024 Share May 28, 2024 Waiting for his press conference when Liverpool board introduce him to the press on 1st June. Klopp came and said that he was "The Normal One" . Arne Slot "I'm The One"

Fooblack Supercharged May 29, 2024 Share May 29, 2024 Judging by the way Klopp first started, I reckon that Slot will not make any wholesale changes immediately. In any case, there isnt a need to as the spine of the team is in a very good shape. I expect VVD to stay on for another season. Likely Salah too as the mgt wont want to lose Klopp and Salah at the same time. However, if a super big offer comes in for Salah, their heads may turn. Edwards/Ward/Slot will make some quiet moves in the market for futureproofing purposes. Dont expect any big signings as FSG wont be taking a risk on a new mgr with a new mgt structure. If a good offer comes in for Diaz, wont be surprised she goes. These SA players are highly attractive to EU clubs and on balance, they are not the most loyal nor consistent players around. Watching Diaz playing this season was a roller coaster every game. never know what you are going to get. We have enough forwards and Slot may not play with 2 wide forwards. his 4-3-3 may involve the 2 wide forwards to tuck in more rather than play as wingers. Jamesc Hypersonic May 31, 2024 Share May 31, 2024 Liverpool's deep dive into the data, led by director of research Will Spearman, will have noted. This season, for example, Liverpool's games featured 94 possessions per match, while Slot's Feyenoord stood at 96 for that same period. Liverpool's average pass travels 17.1 meters, while Feyenoord's goes 17.2 meters, Under Klopp, the team moved the ball upfield at an above-average rate of 1.26 meters per second, while Feyenoord were even quicker at 1.33. The Reds' opponents completed 77% of their passes, while the sides against Slot's Feyenoord posted 74%. On their own, such similarities are merely coincidental but together they build up a picture of a compatible playing style.

I agreed with the finding but the Dutch League as compared to the Premier League are 2 worlds apart. I have watched Dutch League teams playing on MIO TV and their playing style is almost the same as the German League. Slow & possession types of football. Premier League is fast actions type and we will see after the first 10 matches Liverpool's league position in the new season under Slot. ↡ Advertisement
