Slot plays Graval Patch, Jones and Elliott in the best positions. Klopp has been in the club for 9 years and Slot hasnt been in the club 9 months. Too early to tell and Slot is enjoying all the successes recently cos he inherited a great squad built by Klopp. They are 2 different managers with varied styles. Klopp is heavy metal and probably the biggest criticism is that he can be abit one dimensional. But he brought the team from literally the ashes to the glory era of trophies almost every single year. Slot is clearly more pragmatic and can spring a surprise. No one expected Pool to play counter-attacking football at home but it was his game plan. Chelsea had so much of the ball but create so little. We never imagine Klopp setting up shop this way without the high press. but it worked to perfection given the scoreline so full marks to the team.
Akula Turbocharged October 22 Share October 22 As expected Jota misses Leipzig trip along with Bradley and Chiesa. Elliott and Alisson still sidelined. Jamesc Hypersonic October 23 Share October 23 Salah is now ninth in the Premier League's all-time top scorer list, level with Jermain Defoe and closing in fast on Arsenal legend Thierry Henry and Chelsea hero Frank Lampard. Just 16 more goals will see him surpass the pair of them. 1
Akula Turbocharged October 23 Share October 23 FT: Leipzig 0 #LFC 1: Three out of three in the Champions League thanks to Nunez's goal. Hard fought and had to hang on a bit late on but fully deserved victory. Couple of big saves from Kelleher. For the first time in Liverpool's history they have won 11 of their opening 12 games of a season. Six out of six away games. Next up, vs the gunners.
Fooblack Supercharged October 24 Share October 24 Pool's winning run continues. It is built on defensive solidarity which we didnt have for a few seasons already. While we didnt score as many goals in games this season, the real plus is that we hardly concede. Remember the year we won the league.. while we raved about the fantastic front 3 (Mane, Bobby and Salah) at the peak of their careers.. it was the defensive solidarity that made the real difference. Pool had the best defense in that season and to me, that is why we won the league.
Jamesc Hypersonic October 24 Share October 24 One more win and we qualified for the next round of the CL. Then can rest players and play the kids.
Fooblack Supercharged October 24 Share October 24 doubt so.. momentum is key. Win bonuses will also be a factor. Slot will be able to start the squad players more freely though. The likes of Gomez, Quansah, Endo must be itching for action

They are from Pool Youth Team. Last season, Klopp used them when many of senior were injured.

Thought have to play 8 games and top 8 teams will proceed to knockout stage. 8 games = 24 points and if Pool win the next game, only 12 points doesn't guaranteed qualification. Have to win at least 2 more games out of the remaining 5 UCL league matches.
Jamesc Hypersonic October 24 Share October 24 No need so many. There are only 5 games left and not every tram can get the maximum 15 points. Who qualifies for Champions League play-offs? To finish in the top 24, which guarantees you a play-off spot at least, Opta believes 10 points - so three wins and a draw, or other combinations - will almost certainly guarantee you a place in that round. Atrecord Supersonic October 25 Share October 25 Pool is on a quiet run in the UCL, will be good to stay that way and hopefully qualify without too much difficulty, avoiding injuries/suspension. plus maybe let other players get to experience/play more too. with a long season, sure will need the whole squad to chip in at some point. While the team has been letting in few(er) goals this season, the goalies be it Allison or Kelleher (or even what's his name, the back-up when Allison was injured mid-game and Kelleher was sick) have had to make many more saves, and some crucial ones, in the matches. While it's good to see the goalies on form, i would have preferred it more if the goalies do not have to be forced to make saves so much. Hope the defense can improve on this. Next is Arsenal. Hope to get a good result against them.

Though I am not a big fan of renewing players above 30, this might make sense since VVD can still operate at a high level when partnering with a younger CB. Raymondism Twincharged October 25 Share October 25 TAA looks like he is leaving and we have been talking about replacing Salah by bringing in many good youth players like Ben Doak and Kaide Gordon. Though not as creative, Bradley can replace TAA in a wing back role while Gomez can still deputise at RB when we wanna manage the game with 30minutes left when leading.
Fooblack Supercharged October 25 Share October 25 i am feeling comfy with VVD and Trent. feel they will likely get renewed. Trent is local boy so that will weigh heavily. his family will get hell if he moves so this wouldn't be taken lightly. Salah is the one most likely to leave. His body language is telling.. he is angling for a new contract and nothing appears forthcoming.. so that's my worry.

Raymondism Twincharged October 26 Share October 26 Honestly I am not worried about Salah leaving... only felt that we could have sold him for 150M some time ago... ↡ Advertisement
