If Leny Yoro is 50m then our Trey is also 50m and a generational talent.

So comfortable on the ball, looked liked he played centre midfield for years.

When he came on, he just controlled the game.

He created the 2 big chances of the game, one scored, one near miss.

Curtis Jones will be our new no 6 double pivot.

And VDB will be Matip replacement.

Actually Quansah will be Matip replacement and VDB will be Quansah replacement.

So far, he (Slot) has not done anything impressive to impress me. :we-all-gonna-die:

Well, he could say that not all players are back to training but from the training videos, so far nothing impressive. :slow:

As everyone knows we let in a lot of goals last season.

Especially first and second goals

All our players in the opposition half leaving only our 2 CBs to face 3 attackers.

Slot plays with a double pivot so all the players can attack but the 2 no 6s will protect the 2 CBs.

So to partner Endo we need a player to help him win the ball but also bring the ball up field to start the attacks.

Slot saw Jones as the perfect partner for Endo.

Just like how Rafa made Carragher a CB or Klopp made Firmino a false 9.

Players are like paintings.

A $50m painting must be a better painting than a $1m painting.

So a $50m player must be good.

Slot not selling VDB is a genius move because VDB is the best young defender in Europe not Yoro.

Van den Berg among top young defenders in Europe.

According to Opta, among all under-23 defenders, only Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite had a higher duel success rate (68%) in the big-five European leagues in 2023-24 than Van den Berg (65%, minimum 165 duels).

Defensive Contributions and Clearances

Sepp Van den Berg demonstrates significant prowess in several defensive categories. He outperforms Branthwaite in clearances and blocks, essential metrics for a centre-back. Van den Berg’s ability to disrupt opposing attacks and clear danger is a testament to his defensive solidity. Branthwaite, while slightly behind in these areas, showcases a balanced profile across multiple defensive actions, indicating a well-rounded skill set.

Conclusion

In summary, Sepp Van den Berg and Jarrad Branthwaite bring distinct strengths to their respective teams. Van den Berg’s defensive contributions and ball-carrying abilities contrast with Branthwaite’s superior passing accuracy and aerial prowess. As Liverpool and Everton look to develop these young talents, the data from Fbref offers a valuable perspective on their potential and areas for growth.

Supercharged

Arne Slot is 100% the dream manager... from the ownership point of view.

No need to spend.. squad is good enough to compete.... players can improve on the training pitch. Owners continue to park cash in their investments or look for others.

Well, this is either super courageous or super foolish. only time will tell.   Pool has sufficient talents in all parts of the team.. the issue is whether they can improve from last season's showing  with the same squad.  think Slot is buying time since he can have a very robust excuse that he didnt stick his head out to buy and spend.

For the record, this is his style...  his highest transfer fees paid for a single player at PSV... was about EUR8M.
