Just watched the highlights...unstoppable long blasty shot...Gordon did well to score the 2nd...the 3rd conceded goal is on Keller...

I think the only good thing about Nunez is he rarely get injured and almost always available on the pitch

to miss good chances.

Newcastle is a very good side

and save all their energy for big teams.

Smaller team their players slack off and they lose.

Just like Man Utd.

No no they never lost a game under RVN!

He is the only Utd manager with a 100% win record.

But he didn't get the job full time because his name

is not the brightest star name of the new young managers.

Amourim is!

That 4 positive games in a row was just a respite of a reprive...😁

I have never see Salah play better than this season.

The reason is he is playing for a new contract.

Just like Alexis Sanchez! Couldn't stop scoring before Arsenal gave him a big contract.

After he signed he couldn't score anymore.

I am not saying Salah will stop scoring with a new contract but there will be less motivation.

Give a him a big contract at the end of the season.

And just give him a one season contract.

Every year for the next 3 years.

How To Create Space, a TED Talk by Darwin Nunez

On Liverpool's first goal, as Mohamed Salah is advancing down the right wing, seeing that he is 1-v-2 against the Newcastle centre-backs, Darwin makes a run to the far post. This drags Fabian Schar to mark him and leaves Dan Burn isolated at the near-post on the edge of the six yard box (because he's staying level with Schar, who has dropped there to mark Darwin). This creates a massive space in the penalty area to be attacked, Curtis Jones attacks it. Great pass Salah, great finish Jones, 1-1.

Then Liverpool are down 2-1 a Trent Alexander-Arnold has the ball on the right. Again Darwin drags Fabian Schar to the back post (watch Schar scan to check where the Uruguayan is) rather than attack the near because he can see Salah doing just that. Trent feeds it in to Salah who finishes calmly in frankly oceans of space (created by Darwin's movement and Dan Burn stepping up and failing to block Szoboszlai's pass out wide to Trent).

Liverpool's third goal is very similar. This time Newcastle have bodies back but again Darwin runs to the back-post and keeps Schar out of the picture, isolating Burn 1-v-1 with Salah. And just as with the first two goals, Liverpool exploit Burn's lack of agility, intelligence and grace. Trent in to Salah, quick shift of the feet, bang. 3-2.

Or look at Liverpool's win over Man City, where Darwin came off the bench. How does Liverpool's clinching penalty come about? Because Darwin presses Ruben Dias into a poor hurried pass to Walker then turns around and pressures Walker into playing the ball first-time, which results in him turning into Luis Diaz who robs him and wins the penalty.

Is Darwin Nunez a 30-goal a season striker?

No.

Is he a hard-working selfless striker that understands how to create space for Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold to work their magic in?

Yes.

And that's all there is to it. He's not perfect, but for Arne Slot's Liverpool and their reliance on Mo Salah-ball? He's ideal.

Liverpool bought Nunez to be an out and out Center forward and what we got is a Firmino.

Pressing, closing down,  tracking back and creating space for Salah and Diaz to come inside to score.

Against Everton won't be an easy match.

Tomorrow match will be their last derby at Goodison (since 1892) before moving to their new stadium.

Maybe we all mistaken Nunez "Out to Out" center forward. [sly]

He should be playing "out" aka outside the penalty box cos inside the box, he shoots bobo..... :slow:

Example ride in front of Newcastle goal mouth, he missed   :XD:

Salah is more "in than out" and will sign a new contract.

Now waiting for the photographer to take the photo for us to see.

Think Edwards and team will place a value on each player and talk to the medical team regarding the condition of the older players. Before putting a contract out to Salah or VVD, there would be some discussion with their agents on expectations.

If you are Edwards, will you give Salah another 3 yr contract with weekly wages of 350K or more? Same for VVD. Both Salah and VVD has to understand that they are on the wrong side of 30.. maybe the next contract will be shorter with lower fixed wages and higher incentives...

As for TAA pls offer him a 250K pw 3yr contract on 1st Jan to screw RM....

Salah signed contract with the $$$ he wanted and the years he wanted.

Have to wait for him to wake up to tell us the contract details.
