IMHO.

"Steady green man time is a fixed and pre-determined time period that allows all pedestrians waiting at the kerbside to step off and commerce crossing. The flashing green man is the duration required by a typical pedestrian to complete his crossing action from one side of the road to the other. Thus, pedestrians who arrive at the crossing location after the green man has started to flash would probably not have sufficient time to cross the road if they attempted to do so. This is why by the time the green man flashes; it is not safe to start crossing the road. "

Most of these Incidents are caused by Distractions,like PHV Look for Bookings,seeing Maps or reading Messages on Phone.

PHV are not alone, even taxi driver doing same. Keep depressing brakes while looking at phone and still very far from traffic light and nothing ahead.

So the simple reason SG drivers are the worse drivers is because they drive badly but think its not them and its other people.

That's why you always hear, I always give way but other people never give way to me.

I never accelerate when people signal but other people always accelerate when I signal to chance lane.

I am a very good driver but so many people cannot drive properly like me.

Etc etc etc! 

 

Rule is simple, if you want to drive like ass then keep to left. Every farker want to keep right but when comes the green traffic light then start driving like snale.
If all slow drivers keep to left then fast drivers wouldn't have issue to keep driving in fast lane, but there is always an itch at backside to drive in 1st lane.

Not only that but keep driving slow in first lane and when someone overtake then start honking, high beams and post in youtube.

Hide those camera and charge these people who flaunt law, few times i have seen traffic guy standing outside tiong bahru shopping mall and making video of people approaching zebra crossing. Everyone will behave because they know he is making video.

People drive like idiots but they don't know they drive like idiots and think it only OTHER people that drive like idiots.

Both in skill lever and attitude.

I can cut in because I am in the wrong lane not my fault mah.

But I don't let other people cut in because they never get into the correct lane early mah. Their own fault.

Just treat as beating red lights 12 points. Except when bikea/PMDs race across with no enough time to stop.

The cam also can play both parts. 

It also saves the driver if the pedestrian is wrong dashing across even 'Red Man' does appear not in their favour. :wut:

Many times, I came across pedestrians dashed across even though the timing appeared 3 seconds left and they were just started to run across. Making me wait for them to cross which resulted in the rear vehicle horn at me as by then, Amber Light appear. :lll._.:

If the rear vehicle crosses the junction, he will beat the red light. :TT_TT:

IMHO.
I think if need something to "save" the driver,  it will unlikely be implemented. 😆

It is the typical SG boomer (and passed down to their kids) mentality of "You must listen to me! I am always right! EVERYTHING REVOLVES AROUND ME!"

This is prevalent in many aspects of life in SG and amplified when they go behind the wheel.

Sooner or more likely much later,  they will find one nice day to create publicity  by saying they catch how many of them within a day, after  that for a long long time no sound no picture again.

Because they pay Certificate of Entitlement. So it's only natural that they think they are entitled.
