If EV adoption really explodes in the next few years, I'm afraid I'll have to constantly Q for charging... maybe even mid night queue at carpark. 🤔 I don't think there's enough charging points yet, but I could be totally wrong la.. it literally takes years to roll out such projects at scale. steveting99 2nd Gear February 15, 2025 Share February 15, 2025 @Playtime From Straits Times article on: At least 46 new, mostly fast EV charging points to be installed in industrial areas by 2026, there are 15,300 public charging points at the end of 2024. With around 26k EVs registered on the road as at the end of 2024, that makes out to be around 1.7 EVs per charger - not including those who are fortunate enough to home charge. LTA needs to accelerate their goal of 60,000 charging points in a much shorter time frame.

You need to answer these question to yourself: 1. Do you have EV chargers within your estate 2. Are there any DC fast charger with 500m radius 3. Are there any DC fast charger in places you frequent

"In 2024, BYD sold 6,191 cars in Singapore, making it the top-selling car brand in the country. This was a 337% increase from 2023, when BYD sold 1,416 cars. " If byd seeks say 10k this year.. it alone would easily double the 26K passenger ev numbers in 3 years.. that's not counting other brands.🤔 But I really don't know what the ownership experience will be like in a few years for those who don't own a landed property with a personal point.. Benarsenal Turbocharged February 15, 2025 Share February 15, 2025 You don't need to charge every day. Most newer EVs nowadays can easily get a range of 400km and up. For average driver this can last maybe 1 to 1.5 week of driving. If your estate have charger you then only need to charge overnight once a week or so. Alternatively just fast charge at shopping mall whenever you do quick shopping. Many malls have chargers now.

But you sure you need such a big sunroof being a bui-bui? Your armpits will sweat and your BO wooooosh, but at least it's in a private car and not stench up others in the MRT. Yes brother ting, think Aion Y Plus wil be more suitable as it looks like a van for single buibui uncles and can fit you perfectly going based on your socials. Anyone interested to see can just PM me, you will understand what I'm saying. Hah, actually I think the difference is more than 44k, it's 90k in fact going from the original price of the KONA of 240k since it's listed in the brochure. That's thousands more arteries clogging KFC meals for you! But all in all, why don't you own a car brother ting? Why would anyone in SG want car advice from someone who came from HK less than 5 years ago and does not own a car. Stop preaching, boomer!!! Yo kaki lefti! Was comparing the Aion Y Plus Premium vs. Hyundai Kona hybrid 1.6 Elite. The first thing to note is that Aion Y Plus Premium has an advantage in terms of cost - see attachment as of today from sgcarmart. Currently this works out to be $38k just for me as you're going to hit me with the highest price possible from Komoco, while everyone else gets a nice discount - thanks for great offer! So that's an extra $38k into my pocket that will go a long way to pay for keeping the Aion Y Plus on the road for a fraction of the cost to the Kona hybrid. The depreciation costs of the Aion Y Plus is also lower than the Kona hybrid. Another advantage that the Aion Y Plus has over the Hyundai Kona is the interior space. This is reflected in Aion Y Plus having a slightly longer vehicle length (+185mm), slightly wider (+45mm), being slightly taller by +66mm and a longer wheel base of +90mm. With a full panoramic sun roof the Aion Y Plus gives a feeling of an open space vs. the closed cave like impression of the Kona. A neat party trick of the Aion Y Plus is the ability of the front seats to be folded down completely flat and with an inflatable air mattress kit, an instant double bed become available to go glamping and/or have a private cinema theatre with the projector / screen kit! Can the Kona do the above? Another thing worth while mentioning is the manufacturer's vehicle warranty. This is far more important than anything the Authorized Dealer (AD) is offering in the form of an extended warranty on top of the manufacturer's vehicle warranty. Or what I would like to call it - a personal promise of being around to take of you in the future. Any extended warranty by the AD comes at some risk and cost to the owner. Aion Y Plus comes with an 8 year vehicle warranty by the manufacturer (GAC). This is an excellent indicator of Aion Y Plus reliability and gives some assurance to owners. It's three years better than what Hyundai is offering on the Kona of 5 years. I have some doubts you or Komoco can convince Hyundai to at least match GAC's 8 year vehicle warranty. Victor68 Turbocharged December 27, 2025 Share December 27, 2025 Test drive 2 days ago. I am quite impressed with the space of this car, especially the back seats. Design wise nothing to shout about but very practical family car. My granddaughter love it. Funny, I remember it doesn't have blid spot warning but has this sun or moon roof. With our hot weather,I only open my current car sun roof less than 5 times in almost 9 years just to check if it works 😂. Main concern, will AD going to be around in the next 10 years? Servicing and technical support any problem?
Alau3978 3rd Gear December 27, 2025 Share December 27, 2025 I’m the owner of the Y Plus Elite. I’m also using the car for Phv. This car handles better than my previous Wish. Car torque feels like driving turbo car. All passengers like the spacious back seat and color of the seat. After 4 months, my mileage is 18K. Electric cars are not suitable for Phv. Sometimes I need to charge twice per day. Full charge using AC 7.4 takes 9 1/2 hours. DC 60 takes 1 hr 15 minutes for full charge. Con: Car Horn is hopeless. Car stereo cannot make it. Changed all 4 tyres at 3K mileage. I found this basic car suits me as I am not tech savvy. As for AD, VinCar has been around for many years. They are the sole distributors for several EV brands.

Alau3978 3rd Gear December 27, 2025 Share December 27, 2025 The car aircon is very cold. I am always on 1 fan speed and set the temperature at 25deg. So far no issue with the moonroof. EV is suitable for Singapore use.warranty last 200K. COE only last for 10 years. Full charge cost around $40 . Mileage is 430km. If your mileage per day is 40km, you only charge once every 10 days. For taxi use, I think hybrid car is the best.
