In Cambodia everything was covered in fish sauce

the war killed so many talented people that their cuisine suffered badly

I stayed in Phnom Penh for 2 yrs.... tried variety of Khmer food, not as bad but I do agree if given a choice Viet or Thai is miles better.

Luckily, Phnom Penh has a lot of foreign budget restaurants, SG, TH, My, etc food. There r even 2 north Korean restaurants.

No need to think too much. Short biz trip I never check in since missing luggage if short 1-2 day trip really habis. I use 22" suitcase with separate laptop compartment (something like this but not as ex lol) but I also have backpack... even how big as long as backpack can fit under the seat in front no one ever disturb me for taking 2pcs.

Only problem is some India type destination and too many ppl overload carryon then they force you to check in before boarding. I always claim there is valuable inside then they let me pass lol

As much as possible when i am travelling and moving around o myown, i choose not to have any check in.

cuts the process in checking in and waiting at the belt.  Simply roll and go.

just a good carry-on hard case and a messenger bag is good enough for 3-5 days, SEA.

I is cannot coz I v hiao. Got ctc lens solution, perfume and hairwax. Think cannot overshot the 100ml limit as my ctc lens solution is already in a 90ml bottle.

I tried once when travelled to BKK for biz trip a few years back but don't find any benefits coz I wasn't in a rush anyway. SQ gate in bkk airport quite inside. If carry on need to push the luggage all the way in. No point for me.

Huh? Total volume is 100 ml for each item right? So that shouldn't be a problem?

Did you need any E-reg or visa?

E-reg via the eGovPH app.

Unfortunately traffic is bad as before. Took me >10 minutes just to get to the other side of the road by car (through a U-turn point, which is just around the corner)

i used to fly in/out of the Philippines frequently for a period of time.

main Philippines office was in MNL so i had to go there for meetings but the work area was in central or south philippines so a couple of domestic flights were inevitable.

after a couple of bad experiences in NAIA, i chose to fly via Davao instead of Manila to take Silkair for the Singapore flight.

one time, my MNL-SIN flight departure from NAIA was at 7am or so. The local staff told me to be at airport by 3am. i was shocked but when i got there, i understood why. Took 3.5hrs to clear all the different stations (security checks etc), and that's with SQ ground staff eventually opening a dedicated lane for SQ passengers at one of the final stations.

The airport is basically slow and inefficient.

If I don’t have any check in luggage, will that help?

additional layers for security checks made it worse.

i don't think having luggage makes it any worse, so the only benefit from not having check in luggage is removing the risk of luggage loss or delay

i've seen checked baggage left behind on a domestic PAL flight (not mine) due to overweight aircraft. i was flying to the same destination at the same time but fortunately was on a different airline.

best to chk with the locals for airport advice. Either hotel staff or the ones in office.

Latest updates. @therock I am caught by surprise this evening that there are still eatry in major shopping mall which do not accept cc payment, nothing but Peso in cash, even USD they don't accept.

I don't remember paying cash at any eatry during my last few trips, but maybe I stay at a new town in Manila previously, instead of near the airport this time. Lesson learnt, always ask the eatry if they accept cc payment before you place your order.

And traffic congestion during evening peak hours are real bad, from the expressway exit to my hotel, which is directly opposite the airport, that 3Km stretch or thereabout, took us around 40 minutes! If I walk, I will reach the hotel earlier, probably even have time for a quick shower before dinner.

And the last, what an eventful dinner. Beside having to head back to the hotel to get some cash to change into peso (my colleague has USD), queue half way at the bank and suddenly the whole building black out!! But just like our ERP system, whole building no power supply except for the casino on the ground floor. Their back up power all allocated to the casino I guess :D:D
