Final result for 2nd bid of May 2024. Quite close to 1st bidding actually.

Yours is 6 bid guaranteed CAT B COE? 

Mine is 6 bid guaranteed so C&C KIA AD bid first time got my CAT A COE on 2nd Bid April 2024 at $94010 then install ERP 2.0 OBU, lastly go collect the KIA NIRO Hybrid SX, total damage is $181000.

It is for a KIA NIRO le, so $181k consider ok liao. Unless it is a KIA Cerato for $181k.

Cat A and B only 13k difference. Gahmen better do something. Cat A supposed to be for B&B cars but everybody start to detune their cars to fit into Cat A including Tesla.

Yes that right. I went for the 3rd trim which is SX highest spec, 2nd trim which is the EX Comfort spec is at $164000 at that point of time in April 2024. The difference is $17000 in terms of hardware specification. 1st trim low spec I think is $160000 (those use by grab/tada/gojek) 

As you know Hybrid usually cost more than standard ICE cars. Niro is I would say second in line based on hierarchy in KIA SG model with the base model being the KIA K3 sedan than followed by Niro then Sorento and follow by all the EVs. 

China BYD B&B car EV CAT A Atto 3 also around $165000 which is second in line after the base dolphin. Just that I have more confidence in Japan/Korea/Conti than China brand, maybe in a few cars time my perspective towards china made EVs will change.

Wanted to buy the current AD 2.5 Hybrid Harrier but it was at $240000 back in April 2024 I think. Is over my budget already and it’s CAT B, higher road tax. Next time change tires also expensive coz is 18”, should be around $900~$1000.  

Trade in 2016 Toyota Harrier 2.0 NA bought at $150000 back then, which COE end in Q1 of 2026 as this vehicle despite larger and nicer but it’s lacking active safety features and modern technology, no CarPlay/Android Auto too, more wind noise as the rubber is not as fitting compared to new car, likely due to our hot weather too.

Aircon also randomly give hot air, need to plug out ECU to reset, rear aircon also sometimes stop working, engine light also sometimes randomly appear. Enough of all these, so just downgrade and change to more environmentally friendly car, lower road tax and lower petrol fee, change tires also cheaper as it only 16” and enjoy all the latest technology and active safely features. 

Yes is smaller but the acceleration is faster due to high torque in EV mode when from red light or overtaking. Getting 4.6L/100KM now on Niro.

Cannot believe a Toyota car can give you so many problems ar? Esp it is a higher toyota model Harrier le, not Vios lo.

Where is Chee Hong's plan to move PHV cars out of Cat A ar?

Yup back then when AD is dumb and never bought in Toyota Harrier, PI bring in the Toyota Harrier 2.0 NA engine JDM spec. Problem start to come after 5 years mark, when slow acceleration like start moving off or slow moving in carpark, the engine will have the small but noticeable vibration but mechanic cannot find the issue, super annoying. 

First 5 years was good, after that more and more issue despite take care the SUV in good condition.
