It’s a bidding system with IC so either suck it up and pay or give up. As much as I dislike the high amount. The fact is someone else is richer than you.

I am willing to try my luck that I can get my COE if we take out all the non-IC bidding and we are left to fend off the ones buying lambo, rr, porsche, bently...

Rather, what COE price would be if SingPass bidding only

It won't happen lah. Buying a car is not restricted to Singaporean only.

This one is dig own grave. Article mentioned owner did a 5 year COE renewal. So that's in 2019.

10 year renewal was below $30K in 2019, what was he thinking, to renew only 5 years?

Already forgot 5 digit scrap value (PARF) for the BMW and renew only 5 years. Outright dumb!!!

Maybe he was hoping for 1990 $3,002 COE.

The family is both idiotic and clickbait.

Anyway article says they bought new car

So they are dumb but well off

LTA will never allow this to happen. Transport Ministar sure kena put on PIP (Performance Improvement Plan) because a key revenue source has been cut significantly.🤑

This is the whole point, it will never happen

I can wait but don't know AD can wait or not.  :secret-laugh:

If COE keeps going higher, it will be me who benefit from the rise of COE because of the guaranteed COE when I placed my deposit. [cool]

Now there is no stock at AD and waiting for the shipment to arrive which is estimated to come in the next 2 weeks. [drivingcar]

Salute your confidence in an almost unheard China EV brand and getting Maxus MIFA 9. Wonder how their reputation, reliability and even safely in ENCAP and ANCAP crash test.

Most importantly will the company itself survive in the next 5-10 years in the throat cutting competition in their home ground as quite a number of Chery, BYD and Xiaomi cutting corners on their EVs are popping up now from China owners.

More and more unheard China EV popping up all over China with company heavily subsidize by their government just to get on the EV hype, any cat and dogs also try to manufacture EVs.

Just be careful in uncharted territory, yes most of these China EVs look fancy on the outside, that we need to give it to them. How the internal from software, battery, safely and built quality, how will it last? Nobody knows, let see in 5 years time in our local humid weather conditions.

Rest assured that I did my research before deciding on MIFA 9.

Maxus had been in SG for more than 16 years. It started with Maxus van and followed by their MPV G10. In China, they are known as MG, in Australia & New Zealand, they are known as LDV and in Europe, known as Maxus.

MG (Morris Garage) was British brand before being brought over by SAIC (Shanghai Automotive Industries Corporation). They also have other brands of EV under them like Greely, GWM, Cherry and another one forgot the name. SAIC also produce their own EV batteries.

I brought because the warranty of the batteries is 8 years whereas, the rest of EV comes with 5 ~ 6 years warranty. Only this year onward, other brands also comes with 8 years warranty.

And also the range of fully charged batteries can reach 430 km. (normally stop to recharge when reaching 15% of battery left as been advised by many EV companies to prolong batteries life) which travel roughly estimate 350 km. My target is can reach Malacca, I am satisfy as I usually goes there to shop.

And SAIC is the one of the biggest, if not the biggest Chinese car manufacturer in China. Audi even went into EV platform partnership in Jul 2023.

"Partnership with Audi

In July 2023, the German Audi announced that it is establishing strategic cooperation with the Chinese company SAIC Motor in order to borrow its platform used to build large electric cars. Audi thus expressed its desire to use this technology to build its own electric model specifically for the Chinese market in order to increase its competitiveness against companies such as Nio."
