Hi all, "new kid on the road", American SUV look.

Nice! Is this yours?

Mine is due for delivery soon.  Noticed this has the handles, wing mirrors and roof wrapped (though roof only seems partially wrapped).

If it is yours, what size wheels and what is the offset? I'm looking at changing rims, but waiting to get the car to determine what rim dimensions are.

@GTO-1 It is 20 inch rims as standard. The picture above has custom rims.

Yes. I'm asking, because I want to find out details of the aftermarket rims, because I will probably swap out the stock rims for aftermarket.

Hi GTO-1,

Congrats on your coming new ride & enjoy!

Santa Fe has evolved much from the 1st generation heydays in early 2000s when the SUV trend started.

Wasn’t mine, was waiting at the MacRitchie Reservoir traffic lights and happened to chance on this new Santa Fe.

Wheels at a glance seemed like RAYS style

Thanks.  I've been looking up wheel-size, but it still doesn't show stock offset yet.  As I understand it, the stock offset is +54.  Which is a very strange offset.  The wheel is already pretty flush with the fender, but it might be able to go out a few mm.

In anycase, no rush. Will get the car, enjoy it a bit before upgrading it with new bits.

@Infernolord one of my friend shared the quote and i saw the bank interest is 2.08%

That loan quite low, 2.08% if true not that bad. Mine in May 2024 with C&C is 2.68% with MayBank ☹️

Got my Santa Fe calligraphy a week ago.  Been happy with it, up until today.

Over the week I noticed that the time/date on the onboard headunit wasn't set and couldn't be set.  SA told me to bring the car in to get it checked out - "it shouldn't take more than an hour".  Brought the car in and just got a call back from the service centre that they need to keep the car overnight.  Apparently need to remove the headliner  because they suspect a wiring problem 😔.  More than likely a GPS antenna issue.

The whole irony of this is that the car doesn't even have an onboard navigation to even use GPS.  Furthermore, the huge OBU screen displays the time in font size 100, right in the drivers line-of-sight.  Then again I bought the car expecting everything to work, but a fix that requires a full overnight fix for such a minor thing is horrible.

Hopefully not a future sign of the ownership experience.  Hopefully just a one-off.

@thebestbees Possibly. I also wouldn't be surprised if my car is the first, or one of the first that the mechanics are working on.  Meaning my car is the guinea pig car to rip apart.  None of this makes me happy.

How's this for overkill... they've removed the headliner and half the interior to check all the wiring.  Even that didn't fix it.  Now they are saying they have to replace the entire headunit, which includes the removing the two 12.5inch screens (since it's one unit) and replacing the entire thing.  This, plus two days in the workshop and the workmanship.  Overall this would probably cost about $10k in parts and labour.

All I wanted to do was to fix the clock so it showed the time, as it was just showing --:--!  The service advisor chuckled as though it was such a minor thing.  Apparently it's much harder than they thought.

As I mentioned, the whole GPS system in the car is redundant, because there's no navigation system in it.  I don't know if I should laugh or cry.

Did they give you a courtesy car in the meantime. Can feel you since it is supposedly a brand new car. That's probably a risk in being the first mover.

Not yet.  It was only supposed to be overnight, but at this rate, it's probably going to longer - so I'll ask.
