I think resale price for ICE would hold better than EVs.. cos EVs technology is improving very fast, people will prefer to buy new ones..

Resale price for ICE now still good since ICE still not yet phase out. But 5-10 years later when ICE will phase out, if you buy a brand new ICE now, don’t know if the resale price got affected 5-10 years later. Unless you plan to drive the ICE for 10 years to scrap then maybe not affected.

Means not a wise choice to buy EV car. But if you buy a ICE car now, don't know few years down the road, will there be value for your ICE car when sell, due to by then maybe ICE car already not common and popular, as EVs car will be the only car available in the market.

Am more inclined to believe that EV resale price will be depressed due to aging battery and high cost of battery replacement. Unless the price of battery replacement drops significantly and accessible to OEM battery.

If you see altis and camry on the road, usually are driving by ah pek. They are at least in their 60s and 70s. So both of you still young la. 😂 Not easy to find below 60s drive these two model, esp altis. If you see a 30s and 40s owned a camry/altis must go buy 4D liao.

Don't like that lah. Last time I used to drive my dad's Altis. Got car drive good enough already :D

In this case no matter buy EV or ICE now also screw. 😅

In Singapore, as long as we buy car, we are screwed by ah gong, insurance, LTA, AD, PI, 2nd car dealers.

It is a matter of finding an option that screw us lesser only.

I am ahpek, the car price numbers look mind boggling to me.

Yups.... Last time, I will like to believe not too long ago, I can buy a brand new Subaru Legacy GT 2.5T AWD at slightly less than $100,000 on the road.

Now an Altis 1.5L NA at $150,000 people are saying it is cheap.... 😂

I believe my salary did not increase 3 fold in this period.... Maybe I am just under achieving? 😅

Agreed. In summary cost to replace battery is expensive. Savings of diesel not able to cover cost. Thus screwed. Maybe this is the case for buses and large vehicles. But EV tech is improving so fast. Each generation leaps quite a bit forward, thus used prices will be depressed.

Buying car is not just buy n drive. As we all know, need to maintain and pump petrol (for ICE).

One day, owning an ICE car will become more difficult as there are less workshops, less parts, and less petrol stations to support ICE. As EV in its current form or future form gain more market share, the current infrastructure for ICE cars will transit to EV suport. It is like many don't want to go EV now cos the support is still not mature.
