Ship tracking data from LSEG shows a Singapore-flagged container ship, the Dali, at the location along the Key Bridge where the accident occurred. The registered owner of the ship is Grace Ocean Pte Ltd and the manager is Synergy Marine Group, LSEG data show.

Synergy Marine Corp said that the Dali collided with one of the pillars of the bridge and that all its crew members, including the two pilots, had been accounted for and there were no reports of any injuries.

it looks like the ship lost power, the lights were going on and off, very unusual. it then lost control and slam into the bridge.

above the bridge you can see the last few cars passing by, and then the bridge collapse.. quite fortunate, there was lesser traffic.

So what is the implication for SG?

from a country perspective? not much. Except help lead the investigation. SG/MPA has been pushing for years for such vessels to register under SG flag. Not surprising for an SG-flagged vessel to be involved in an incident outside of SG waters.

liabilities will sent to P&I club. Perhaps declare force majeure. Ship registry state, ship owner/operator/charterer rarely bear the full costs.

implications for Baltimore will be a lot more significant. Blockage of main waterway, loss & repair of span (bridge) etc. Not to mention the loss of life.

i'm glad it's not terrorism-linked.

Chey. Means nothing for SG to worry about la.

I think if the president was Trump he would be yelling for us to pay for repair cost.
