One of my grandkids must have inserted a coin into the rear aircon vent , in order to retrieve the coin, i have to remove the plastice louvre cover, but because the plastic was already 15 year old, the snap on catches all broke off the moment i remove the cover. I ended up have to order a new OEM cover to replace it. This is a good thing about conti, one can find replacement parts easily.

Below picture is with the damaged louvre removed.

Turbocharged

I am clumsy with plastic

probability of breaking plastic tabs is almost 100%

I always very curious how those mechanics know where to pry

mechanics are as good as we are. These are snap on stuff, just have to pry at the right spot and pull towards the right direction , all can be googled around. But because my car is older, the plastic componenets become more brittle and are vulnerable to breaking.

Conti plastic is like that. Biodegradable flimsy stuff. A few years in the sun and all chwee. The old jap or conti all hardy plastics.
glad you didn’t go scrap yard. Pay exorbitant prices at a famous yard for conti and plastics are just as brittle. Better go your route of China parts which are cheap and work almost as well.

anyway you didn’t tell us if it was $1 or 10cents for your efforts! 🤣

I could change wowo air filter, cabin filter, headlight bulb, taillight bulb, fuses, ignition coil, some sensors etc all no problem...but nowadays the one thing I can possibly break is my back...especially when dealing with the cabin filter and fuse box in that stupiak tight space in front passenger foot well 😅
