So of cos MY cheaper, bare in mind resales value will also base on depreciation

I dont disagree with you, but my view is that this isn't comparing apple to apple. In a sense, the base trim Tesla has far less functions than base trim G6. 

If we upgrade the Tesla Y to the same functions and trim as the G6, I struggle to see how the Tesla Y is any cheaper.

In other country, G6 is also having the same feature as SG model but price is still cheaper than MY. Anyway if you are comfortable with PA pricing, go ahead to purchase the G6, its is a nice car, but as for me I don’t like to let agent earn too much 😜 if G6 ARF is 6.6k, then the basic car cost is less than 150k.

So from what I can understand, your main gripe is with the fact that this car is sold through a dealer, and not direct from manufacturer?

I'm trying to ascertain whether dollar for dollar, the G6 or Tesla Y gives more value to a consumer. 

I don't care if a dealer earns in between, if their product is good.

yup if i am car dealer, i dont care if you upgrade or more functions.. its still goes back to deprec.

So in a way, u might be right no point upgrade Model Y. i guess net net same same..

then again, MY cheaper and offer less than 2% rates.. so it way way cheaper.

So just a further data point to share, in my comparison to Tesla Y. 

With my profile, I could get Tesla Y insurance for 1500. Xpeng G6 is 2500. 1k more a year. 

 

That.. Swings the needle again... 🤣

Buy what you like. The financial delta is not significant enough at that price category to sway your decision much.

1 factor is whether Xpeng will be around in 10 years time. Even though I'm a shareholder, I'm not sure.
It's still loss making. And with fierce competition with MG/Geely/BYD/Nio etc overseas as more well known brands compared to xpeng. Not sure they can translate it to profitability/survival.

BYD/Geely/MG surely will be around due to their size in some way/shape/form.

I think there isn't much resale value for used Teslas either. In fact, many used car dealers are afraid to take in Tesla because new Tesla can anytime slash prices. For example, Model 3 Highland when launched actually dropped price versus pre facelift Model 3. Now nobody wants a used pre facelift Model 3. 

Incoming Model Y Juniper facelift is likely to do the same. All those who buy current Model Y now will bang balls later. 

Drive the full 10 years and scrap it to get back your higher PARF sua.

MG was owned by Nanjing Motor.

Nanjing motor was sold to SAIC.

In China, BAIC, SAIC & GAIC will never toh.
