Just sharing since Toyota is highly likely to release this in 2024, but whether it's PI or AD, remains to be seen..

The final name could be FJ or something else

https://www.drive.com.au/news/details-leak-of-miniature-toyota-landcruiser-fj-a-suzuki-jimny-xl-rival/

"This suggests that the LandCruiser FJ will use the same Toyota iMV ladder-frame underpinnings as the Champ, albeit with a four-wheel-drive transfer case as opposed to the Champ’s rear-drive platform.

With a wheelbase of between 2745mm and 2750mm (depending on application) the Toyota platform is longer than the new five-door Suzuki Jimny XL at 2590mm."

This could very well be my next car..

Always wanted a SUV and something reliable but fun for my next one, that can carry people and has a higher hip point and is still funky, whilst being well built.

Can't wait

Looks like Toyota is using the Innova chassis. Ladder frame, 2750mm wheelbase and 2.7L petrol engine.

Dont think it is that mini. Still quite big for an SUV and heavy for sure. Anything that is based on a ladder frame is no lightweight.

Even Zenix moved to TNGA.

This is on TNGA-F

No exact info yet but I’m hoping for a NA 2.0 with dynamic force from the RAV4 or the hybrid

not sure if we will get any turbo units due to our current tax situation

2.0 hybrid like the Corolla cross and I would be keen too.

Neutral Newbie

I love this concept. You still have an SUV, and it's compact enough to drive, and the most important to park in the city. I'd also love to have one!

The CGIs are close to the image projected by Toyota during the launch of the new Land Cruiser back in Aug 2023.

And it seems to be very similar to the Toyota Compact Cruiser Concept announced in late 2021.

Here are some info from the rumor mill... [:)]

  • Name: Toyota Land Hopper
  • Size: Around that of the Corolla Cross
  • Platform: Shortened GA-F architecture
  • Powertrain: Gasoline and hybrid (no EV)
  • Engine Capacity: 1.8L to 2.5L hybrid

I used to own a Honda Crossroad for 4 years and will be looking forward to this boxy Grasshopper Land Hopper from Toyota, maybe as my retirement car. :D

Nowadays, it has improved a lot.

I sat in J200 Land Cruiser in offroad condition.

Mid-row still comfortable despite the bumpy road.

It is good for trucks and offroad driving. Yeah, other than that it is very rigid and can feel all kinds of vibrations. LoL
