USA is in a slow-motion self-destruction mode. If i was considering migrating, USA would be at the bottom of my list.

Not so bad la .

Last time expert say China gonna catch up. Catch until now also no up yet.

Say US Recession coming. But I see their stock rising and rising.

Say they will die after printing all that dollars. But after so many years.  They still happily printing non stop.

They might not be doing well in some area. But EU is doing much worst. Or going backward.

And China still holding on nia at most.

Hard working people in China save US$2 or 3 a day and put in China banks.

China banks take this billions and buy US bonds.

This is how USA is surviving.

Propped up by the hard working people of China.

The question now is will USA pay back the money they owe to the people of China?

Yup borrowed in USD.

Print to pay back mean devaluation.

China should not have invested in USA.

This is how USA pay them back by short changing them.

Bad bad USA.

No worries, still have the land of the rising sun to support it. Even thought China had been dumping it.
China has been selling US Treasuries, and its holdings have reached their lowest levels since 2009:

May 2024: Chinese investors sold $42.6 billion in US securities, including Treasuries, agency debt, and stocks. This was the largest amount of sales in the first five months of the year.

Q2 2023–Q2 2024: China's holdings decreased from $849 billion to $775 billion.

June 2022–June 2023: China's holdings decreased from $938.8 billion to $835.4 billion.

7 months: China sold $74 billion in US Treasuries and agency bonds.

First quarter 2023: China sold close to $50 billion in US Treasuries.

https://www.straitstimes.com/asia/se-asia/prabowos-phonecall-with-trump-a-master-class-in-foreign-policy

I read the article when it was published in the news. I don't get it. Why is it a "master class"?

When I first read about the words to Trump, my initial reaction was how servile, grovelling, it sounds.

He kept addressing Trump as "sir", which to me is odd for a nation's leader talking to another that is his counterpart as far as diplomacy and etiquette is concerned.
