Ssangyong Tivolis is a popular make/model used in PHV and car sharing. If buy this model from used car market, 99% was a PHV/rental car. 😅

It's popular with PHV and car sharing because no self-respecting human would want to be caught dead in it :D

The dealer probably knew about the issue but cleared the CEL and sold it anyway. Real black shop.

If cleared then not so bad. Maybe break led/bulb? 🤣

Don't mean to further any stereotypes/generalisations, but why Mr Watts chose Ssangyong out of so many options on the market? Even a conti probably wouldn't be so problematic!

With a name like Watts he should be driving an EV 🙃

Mr Watts maybe came from America,Australia or Europe,$46,500.00 most likely He can get a Brand New Toyota Camry or VW Golf in his Country.

Then all hold hands, sit one round and sing " camp fire burning now, camp fire burning now, burning now, burning now"

Or hit the play button and go " fire fire burn so high, KNNBCCB!" [:p][laugh][laugh]

How can you compare this Tivoli to an Altis? :D

One is pushed to be PHV because there is stock to clear and no private owner wants it :D

One is PHV because of overwhelming popularity :D

Long story short...

The company is a shareholder in car-sharing firm GetGo, whose fleet consists of several Ssangyong Tivolis. The model is also popular with private-hire car operators.

Neutral Newbie

Hi everyone, I bought a brand new 2013 Buick Encore and never had any major issues with it until recently. It now has 78,000 miles on it. Last week, the engine light came on and shortly after, there was a repetitive clattering noise coming from the engine when it was running and it had issues with acceleration and deceleration. The engine light would also go off and the noise would diminish a bit when it was off. I called my dealer and made an appointment. I was told that my lifters needed to be replaced and that I also had a crack in my front exhaust. My dealer said that, given the age of my car, this shouldn't have happened. I also regularly bring my car in for maintenance check-ups and oil changes, and also engine cleanings. My oil change light hasn't even come on. I asked my dealer to do the repairs and $1,000 later, my car seems to be running fine again. I called Buick and opened a case to see if they could do anything. They also said the lifters shouldn't have gone out. I received a follow-up today and was informed that there's nothing they can do. The powertrain warranty covers this and since it only goes up to 70,000 miles, there's nothing to be done and they can't extend the warranty. I asked if my car only had 72,000 miles if that would have made a difference and they said yes. So basically, because my lifters decided to go out for no reason at 78,000 and it's not close enough to 70,000, I'm stuck with these repair costs. I will never buy a Buick again. I don't know much about cars, but I do know that I had a used Oldsmobile Alero for 10 years that I took much less care of and never had a single engine problem.
