I think it's not really 'high', but rather the entry/exit height. Most SUV the seat is at hip level, so easier to just slide in for older folks.

Traditional sedan/hatch need to lower down slightly, so some may not like as much.

SUV definitely higher than hip line.
Confirm need to stand on the sidestep before can get in.

CUV will be just nice.

Yups, SUV, even mid sized ones can be a stretch for the older folks.

Better to bring them go car shopping one round testing a few entry heights before committing.

Agree CUV is probably the sweet spot for most.

@jogger maybe it’s a blessing in disguise. There’s more options with MG and maybe even omoda coming up

Exactly my thoughts! Kinda excited to take back my deposit in two months. In the meantime can continue to shop for cars. I'm planning to take a look at Aion Y Plus as well. Other than the boxy design, it's cheaper and more spacious as compared to Atto 3.

May have to change to a higher vehicle. Parents getting on in age. Though I don't stay near them.

In the past, I always thought that having a higher vehicle with seating at hip point is better for old folks, because they seem to 'fall' down onto the seats of my sedan because it was too low. But I tried a higher SUV but a different set of problems arises, that it can be hard to climb on board. Seats at hip point doesn't automatically mean it is easy to get onto the vehicle, because they still need to get on before sitting down. Sitting down first and swivelling the legs onto the vehicle is a nice concept but not so easy or realistic in reality.

I have since come to the conclusion that for old folks, it is best for a vehicle to have i) low floor, so they can step into the vehicle without 'climbing' on board ii) high roofline so that they don't need to stoop tpo much when they step into the vehicle iii) sufficient gap between the first and second row of seats, so they have space to step in and slowly lower themselves down into the seat.

Sad to say, seems like only MPVs meet these criteria. And not all MPVs meet these. I thought that Jap MPVs like Stepwagon, Noah, Odyssey type would likely be good based on my limited experience with them, but surprisingly, spacious MPVs like the Carnival can be surprisingly just a tad too high to easily step in. Am resisting but I think an MPV might be inevitable for me in future.

I loved the high seating on suv when I had them...wife loved only the higher viewpoint from the seat... disliked getting onto it as she's petite...kind choice of word for short...😂

It was easier for my mil to get onto the seat of a sedan but she needed a stepping stool with other physical aid to even get onto the suv. It was also easier with a sedan when I needed to move my bedridden mother from wheelchair into the sedan back in those days. Hard to lift her up into a suv..

Ya, agree. Crossover is probably best. My nearing 90 old folk slides into my X1 from his wheel chair in and out pretty effortlessly due to wheelchair is almost same height my car seat. He is still slightly mobile, just no strength to stand long or walk far. Can't imagine if I had sticked to my 3 series. 😅

Heard from Toyota SE friend that Borneo cancelled more than 100 orders (cumulatively) since Feb's coe bidding till now. Didn't factor in enough margin to tide through the COE increase...

My parents (76 and 71) can get in and out still ok for my sedan. But I agree that I think the noah van is quite easy to get on and off. My BIL drives ody prev gen also quite ok for them.

Needless to say, my 4th failed bid so far. Interestingly my SE has not contacted me to top up.

Got my CAT A COE with G COE package on the first try at the April 2nd bidding 3 days ago but COE indeed increases again. WTS, everyone why bid so high, we need to calm down. Don’t sinkie pawn sinkie.

Based on my humble observation, CUV like vessel, CHR and etc are the best for old folks..

Sedan go in ok but get up need to be careful if not will kanna slip disc..

Tesla keeps screwing their buyers. They just made them suffer a higher loss and that’s not good for customer loyalty.

just like how those W Residences buyers were screwed when new units were released at 40% off previous launch price.

We will feel the pain if Tesla in Shanghai keeps cutting prices.

I think PRC EV maker was doing this when Xiaomi SU7 was launched.

Nothing wrong with Telsa cutting prices to remain competitive amongst the huge influx of new chinese EV car makers and EVs from traditional car brands.

They have to when the local “indigenous” are more competitive like BYD /Xpeng/Nio than Tesla …… maybe Apple had foresight and stayed clear
