After owning sedans, hatch and SUV...I came to the following conclusion about the sitting posture of SUV:

- because of the ride height, your bonnet and door window sill is relatively higher from the ground.

- that created more "blind space" from the driver's view out of the cabin where he/she needs to harness more of his/her "estimation" power to correctly position the SUV relative to the road.

- For sure all the SUVs I have driven or tested, the front driver seat allows for as much adjustment as those of sedans. There fore, you can similarly set your driver seat to slouch/lean back as when you drive a sedan....but by doing that, you will realize that you will have greater difficulty "positioning" your SUV.

- And that is the practical and science based reason why when you get into the SUV driver seat, you will automatically adjust your seat to a more upright position as you try to achieve the view out of the cabin that is optimized for safe driving.

for the cx-5 i drove in australia, I had to have upright seat, otherwise my son wont have much knee room.
Even though he's only 9 and still using booster seat. Lol.

i got 2 options.

1. Renew my Accord COE next January. Forgo the PARF of 16k+.
mileage <130k km so far.

2. Buy a 7-8 year camry. drive for a few years, then either renew or buy new. But 2.5L camry the road tax will be bit chor.

So next car still a hatch?

I like my hatch. Can feel the lack of weight on the rear and car can pivot more easily. Also when reversing into lot just simply go. The short ass makes one take a less cautious approach when reversing. I think if I go back to a sedan, likely to have some scrapes or close call when i reverse.

Yes its a good car, mine was only 68K mileage (2nd car) so it gets divided, if not would have touched 100k or more by now

Next car, my criteria will be small, low and nimble.

Backside or not is not determining factor. Along the lines of ICE bmw 2, audi 3 sportback, porky 718.

SUV is out for sure.

waiting for COE liew lian to drop.😁

True enough! My purchasing price was 142888 for Atto 3, loan 50% for 5 years. I think the deal is too good to be true now haha...

Yup yup. I'm locked in with them now. Another 2 months before I can get my deposit back.

Does it matter since most of us here are drivers 95% of the time. Where got opportunity to sit back and keow kar!

Even no chance to sit back but i still like the rear is spacious. At least see liao feel better. 😂

Overall mazda cars have tight interior space.

If you get used to driving hatch, when drive a sedan, might not able to 'handle' the car esp during parking. Hatch is easy to drive but i find car space too small, still like a sedan which has more space.

Higher car? SUV might be too high for them. Maybe can consider crossover. Not easy to find sedan that is high.

Most SUV in the market is just CUV.

It is not that tall.

Try getting into Hilux. That’s high.

I think it's not really 'high', but rather the entry/exit height. Most SUV the seat is at hip level, so easier to just slide in for older folks.

Traditional sedan/hatch need to lower down slightly, so some may not like as much.
