Hundreds of car hailing vehicles parked for days at HDB carpark, no demand why hoard cars, high COE ?

Maybe AMOT Chee can comment on this ? No drivers demand, PHVs parked for days...time to look into efficient use of vehicles rather than hoarding of cars by rail hailing companies.

I won't complain

a parked vehicle contributes zero emission, zero contribution to the traffic congestion and pay full taxes

yr calculation sala la.

The govt is losing big when the car do not move:

1. Petrol tax

2. ERP

3. Tax on those carpark facilty

4. Tax on those company doing maintenance - More car usage = more servicing require + more breakdown

There are more in the equation if u think deeper...

By the way, which govt really care about zero emission and zero contribution to the traffic congestion??

zero emission - What happen to Tesla and all EV car in SG?

zero contribution to the traffic congestion - Complain more, We simply up the ERP. Remember ERP is to ease the traffic?

But Amy Khor said no proof that PHV companies are pushing up COE prices wor.

Don’t even know if they are paying for season parking or not.

Once they need one of these cars, they just ask a tow truck to tow it out without paying for any parking charge.

I have seen this happened at my estate carpark and it’s done by used car dealers.

Normally they are the same type of people.

These PHV cars are owned by rental companies. When there's not enough demand, they need a place to park them.

These would be seasonal parking arranged with the car park owners, at more ulu area where parking lots are in excess.

I will complain

The opportunity cost during the "parking period" will surely be pass back to consumers through higher fees in the future.

Any increase in transportation fees, be it consumer or commercial,  will surely escalate into price inflation on goods and services'.

In addition, cars that don't move will mean less revenue to the authorities (less petrol, less erp, etc)

And guess where the revenue loss has to be covered back from?

😥
