Germany suffers from electricity shortage due to scrapping of Nuclear power plant.

On the other hand, France building more nuclear power plant

So their country wants to go "Green" or they gostan?

They also try to cut reliability on Russian natural gas. 😒

My thought has always been going the PHEV route first instead of a full EV. There has to be a transit period for users to get use to it, and for take up rate high enough to justified infrastructure building. Of course, the political reason of not fighting the oil giants straight in the face is a key reason too.

Give everyone space to move, and move forward together. [laugh][laugh][laugh]

The complexity of PHEV is combination of both ICE and EV…

Without subsidies to distort the actual price, it does not make sense

Either we stick to ICE, or we develop pollution-free electricity

Unfortinately, Europe and California have lots of wokes who want utopia without planning a proper way forward, and the rest of the world like SG have to follow their laid path, and it is very likely Europe cannot meet their own set deadlines

I mentioned before, that it is not going to be easy to u turn on EV, because of China. And it is also exactly because of China that the west will try to slow down the growth of EV as much as possible.

Already showing up. [laugh][laugh][laugh]

But China has to somehow make the infrastructure and practical EV issues go away for each country that it is trying to push it's EV exports to.

For the record china is also developing hydrogen run cars.

They have some of the biggest hydrogen production facilities.

If 1 day hydrogen cars take off and it happen again china are leading.

I wonder what the comments will be😂😂😂

These are more political than anything else.  If China wants it bad enough, XJP will go talk and trade. Import X amount of EV for Y amount of years, and China will invest ABC amount in building your charing infrastructure. Details can work out later, the difference  between XY and ABC will not be hugh (羊毛出在羊身上), and even if at a loss, won't hurt china, but the loss of sales and political support will hurt the others.

Countries in Belt and road will be easy targets, since they are already china's "customers", and is always easier to sell to those who are already your customers.

Smaller and cheaper EVs are also their strength. While most car manufacturers are still fighting the Tesla high tech toy battle, thinking of EV as a premium vehicle, most china EV manufacturers are busy pushing out smaller, cheaper EVs, something the ppl on the ground wants.

It's all open for negotiation, as long as you are open to accept it.

Even if nothing works and nobody wants it, China has the biggest vehicle market in the world, stop all imports as well, and whole china drive EVs, they will still be fine.

But will the ang mohs of the west be fine with it? [laugh][laugh][laugh]

I think there is more a pushback on Belt-and-Road, even from those countries kinda suckered into it at the beginning.

For some, it works, but for most just heaps debt on debt.
