EV cars are much heavier than ICE, tyres I guess have to use EV specific ones to achieve good comfort, performance and most importantly thread wear.

I am currently driving BMW iX3, stock came with Yokohama, hence I am looking around. 

Explored tyrereviews and understand that Michelin , Bridgestone, Goodyear are the top 3 tyres, are they also good for EVs? Correct me if I am wrong. Hope to hear from you all! TIA

They are heavier generally but it depends on which model and make. For example, the Tesla Model 3 really isn't that much heavier than similarly sized cars in its segment. 1,700kg-ish is almost same as a 3 series, C-Class. 

EV specific tyres usually have some optimisation such as lower rolling resistance, lower road noise (some have noise cancelling foam in them such as the Pirelli P-Zeros PNCS i have now), reinforced side walls to handle the weight and possibly harder wearing rubber compound to handle the additional wear from the instant torque. 

But honestly, I think its all marketing la. I will just change to Michelin Pilot Sport SUV with Extra Load rating when it comes to replacing the current OE Pirellis 😁

Once sat in an EV grab car...sibeh spacious...sibeh silent...until it hit the fast lane...kns...the wind and tyre noise were horrendous...quiet motor so wat...insulation so bad until almost had to shout just to have a conversation...😅

This is when a premium brand with good sound insulation makes the difference. I think the high end BM or like those EQS will have a differentiator. @RadXmay like to share his expressway experience.

Truth be told , ice n ev not much  diff as the insulation is aldy gd. What’s missing is the engine vibration from EV but the noise, both close to same, almost none due to the insulation in the cabin

Lust time my iL6 7er also very quiet...insulation against engine, wind, tyre noise very the goode...but the stupiak fan speed very loud even at speed 3...i was like wtf siah...😂

EV specific tyre has same speed rating as non-EV specific tyre.

In term of weight, that is BS.

In term of harder wearing rubber, I will probably believe.

What car is this?

Tesla Model 3 has the same complaint before FL.

For FL, front window has double glaze glass.

Speed rating on my car isn't too much of big deal since all newer Volvos are now capped at 180km/h only 😂

But load rating has to be similar to OE or higher as the XC40 Recharge is close to 2 tons, whereas it's petrol version is closer to 1.5 tons thus a much lower requirement on its load rating for proper tyres. So that's why I say it really depends on the model and make of your EV, and pay close attention to the load rating of the OE tyres when replacing them. Be similar or better.

This is mostly a car noise insulation problem..

And yes i agree, sound insulation be it EV or not is the main factor when talking about quietness. My G20 is so farking quiet at times I think it's an EV, gotta drive in sports mode and rev up to feel some vibration HAHAHAHA
