Recommended Tyres for EVs by Experience

Hi folks!

I have not seen related discussion before hence starting one.

All EV drivers, please share your experiences and recommendations for tyres? I know most EVs are new in Singapore.

Tesla, BYD, BMW I series, Mercedes EQ series, Audi e-tron series etc.

EV cars are much heavier than ICE, tyres I guess have to use EV specific ones to achieve good comfort, performance and most importantly thread wear.

I am currently driving BMW iX3, stock came with Yokohama, hence I am looking around.

Explored tyrereviews and understand that Michelin , Bridgestone, Goodyear are the top 3 tyres, are they also good for EVs? Correct me if I am wrong. Hope to hear from you all! TIA

There’s a new lineup from  bridgestone that’s due to launch next year and it looks promising

The PM came over to chat about it last month

@RadX It’s still good to explore what tyres are good 🤣 Given a choice, I don’t like to do last minute research. Am just curious on the users here ma

if so easily can produce tyre with

'more wear resistance'

'A reduction in road noise'

then why restrict them to EV only? every other luxury cars will want tyres with these characteristics right???😂

Alot of tesla user are already using normal michelin tyres until song song.

Not saying EV tyres is fake, But alot of these is marketing and gimmick for extra income.

I would imagine alot Alot of EV driver will heard from tyres shop or AD, no your car is EV , must use these tyres or babababa.

I'm trying find more information on EVs using non EV tyres, what's the downside to it?

apparently faster wear due to the instant torque always generated as well as the weight of EVs. No real research done, but it makes sense from the graph below on the torque distribution of an ICE cf EV..ICE builds up.  EV, immed
