Jamesc Hypersonic December 15, 2023 Share December 15, 2023 (edited) I will rather drive into Thailand than go to Langkawi. Nothing much to see in Langkawi. Lots of things to see in Hatyai. Edited December 15, 2023 by Jamesc

Lala81 Hypersonic December 15, 2023 Share December 15, 2023 (edited) No idea. Rental in Langkawi is so cheap. About 30-40 sgd per day only. I've only driven past the ferry terminal. Edited December 15, 2023 by Lala81

Anyone has experience? Any limitations with Singapore car? Expand Just a bit concerned about safety... if the ferry sinks, you lose your car, and our cars in Singapore are super expensive... South East Asian countries' reputation for ferries is pretty poor... so you may want to re-consider... If you really want to experience driving onto a car ferry, maybe rent a car in Malaysia to do it? Then the capital loss resides with the rental company who's covered by insurance. But do check with the rental company first about getting on the car ferry, not all will allow it or some may have an additional surcharge... I've done in Norway of all places... the Bruravik Ferry crossing which no longer exists cos a bridge has been built since... you just drive up, park, put on the parking brakes, then go up to the passenger lounge to wait... once you reach the other side, you just drive off... easy peasy...

Expand Lol precisely what I'm thinking. I just did the ferry from sorrento to Queenscliff. Great experience. I've seen the ferry coming in and out of the terminal while stoning at dataran Lang. Expand Agree with rest of bros here, drive up to the perlis ,park your car there in a hotel somewhere, take a ferry to langkawi and rent a car there, you get to enjoy ferry experience too. Last time i parked at penang and took a ferry from there, but to be frank, langlawi not much fun.

Enddis December 20, 2023 Share December 20, 2023 (edited) Generally, it's possible to take a Singapore-registered car into Malaysia, including for a road trip to Langkawi. However, you should ensure that your vehicle complies with Malaysian regulations. Check the validity of your vehicle insurance, and make sure you have all the necessary documentation, such as your vehicle registration and any required permits. Some restrictions or limitations might exist, especially in terms of the type of vehicle, size, weight, and other factors. Additionally, customs and immigration regulations may vary, so it's crucial to verify these details with the ferry company and relevant authorities. Enddis December 28, 2023 Share December 28, 2023 If you plan to take a ferry to Langkawi, check the ferry company's requirements for transporting vehicles. Ensure you book your ferry tickets in advance, especially if there are specific restrictions or limited space for vehicles. Have all necessary documents ready for both customs and immigration checks when crossing the border. After all, you can do everything via https://drunkid.com/buy/new-york-fake-id internet, can’t you? This includes your passport, vehicle registration, and any required permits. Be prepared for potential vehicle inspections at border checkpoints. Emergency Numbers: Save important contact numbers, such as the local emergency services and your country's embassy or consulate, in case of any unforeseen circumstances. Expand i've driven my own SG plated car onto ferry in a few locations 1) penang ferry, before the service was stopped 2) 4 different locations in thailand. 3 in the south were proper purpose-built car ferries; One in central north was little more than a few construction materials nailed together. Can take 4 cars. I wouldn't go up if the weather was bad or high waves but it was over a man-made reservoir. Very calm. ↡ Advertisement
