Direct Carpentry Contractor

This kind is direct workshop, got do finishing or just the body? For this type I know they only do body and the finishings done by ID.

How do you choose your wardrobe exterior and interior finishings? I'm talking about the formica laminate. They need to show you with a catalogue and you choose from it. Direct workshop usually dont do this. They just work at the workshop and dont have time to go on site and measure your home.

If you want affordable you can look to Casa Interior Design Pte Ltd at Ubi. They are known to be the "Sheng Siong" pricing when it comes to ID. I suspect they are IDs with carpentry background.

I do not know how ppl manage to do direct. You have to be on site telling the carpenter what to do. That's why need ID to draw up with detail dimensions and 3D drawing to show to the carpenter. Or you do the drawings. With no detail dimensions who will entertain you? Even we order from taobao also need to give detail dimensions.

Casa Interior will be highly recommended if you are on a budget. I have been there before but didnt hire them as there are some things they dont do like install taobao stuff.

Just go for minimalist theme when your ID ask. Get the basic things up first. When you want to add more you can get handyman to help you install with your online purchase. That way you will save on reno cost.

Depending on your scope of renovation, you need to be clear that if you skip the ID then you become the project manager, site supervisor and subject matter expert for the whole renovation.

I got few friends who took your approach without the right expectation and their renovations turned into a nightmare because they do not have the knowledge and experience to manage the contractors directly.

This days I’ve seen even Malaysian lorries deliver the whole house furniture ( kitchen cabinets / wardrobe) in one big lorry ( made to measure ) …. Quite massive …. But must have right lobangs ( likely done by ID) because this involves even customs/ import permits and what not imaginable and I’m sure at least a couple of men to adjust / install/ wiring/ touch up / caulking ( silicon the gaps) so chichak / roaches don’t enter in the crevices

This Casa Interior Design Pte Ltd is an ID who do the whole house reno? Or they only so carpentry work? They are known to be the ''sheng siong'' pricing? Will their quality, materials and workmanship also ''sheng siong'' standard? 😅 I always find usually those ID pricing is cheaper than others, their quality also 一分钱一分货 lo. There is no such good thing that they charge you cheap but give you good quality stuff.

On a side note, any good JB furniture retailer to recommend? looking for budget leather sofa and finding local retailers are too high margin.
