mike9765 Clutched November 14, 2023 Share November 14, 2023 Hi all, when buying a COE car from a direct owner, what is the "right" price to offer? Option 1: around the market value of the COE car as advertised by car dealers Option 2: slightly lower than the market value of Option 1 Option 3: deregistration value of the car + car body value (a few thousand) + 10-20k on top I am considering getting a COE car from a direct owner and don't want to pay too much but at the same time do not want to lowball the owner. Will be great to get some opinions. Thank you. ↡ Advertisement

Thank you. depends on the car. 1. direct seller might be a dealer in disguise. 2. usually slightly lower than market value, as direct sellers take it as win win. but depends on the type of car. not applicable to rare and unique cars. 3. direct sellers prefer buyers with full cash, less hassles or you settle your own loans.

If lower than wat you see in SGCM lowest listed price, just take and deal. [this is an example]
