We shall see, but I don't think COE will come down anytime soon. Got year end rush to hit sales target, and Jan got SG Motor Show, demand will remain strong.

More COE quota will be brought forward from peak years in 'cut-and-fill' move to tackle supply trough

It will be exciting to see strong demand despite more and more are going jobless

Maybe time has changed, one does not even need a job to own a expensive car nowadays

I personally prefer that LTA do whatever necessary to even out the feast-famine 10-year cycle and ensure a more stable COE price target every year (say 50~60K for tax revenue purpose), instead of $1k in one month and $150K in another.

Which month got $1k?

And which month got say $50~60K.

Now every month is $100k and revenue is very stable

gov says thank you very much!

:D

All these bringing COE quota forward is like solving a problem with another problem, and never resolve the root cause at all. Now COE quota will be brought forward, then in future when will happen then when all the COE quota have already brought forward liao?

We don't want to keep hearing "Who and who are the unlikely group that cause COE to go up"

We want to hear who the likely group are causing it and act on it lah. Easy as that.

Now they are saying they cannot control. Then why pay big buck for the minister. Isn't the ministry supposed to make the traffic infrastructure as efficient as possible. More good roads so that we can have more COE instead of zero growth. Good bus system, proper numbers of PHVs and platforms. Affordable COE, I actually don't care the cat B goes $150K. I care for those people who need a Van or a B&B car having to pay so much with their income.

But giving me zero growth as a reason, seems to me like they are not working for more roads and wider roads to accommodate more cars. Then why need to pay them the big bucks.

It seems like those days were gone forever. I was poor before and was able to get a cheaper car to make a living and get more money. Seems like people in my same situation will have to look else where.

That is really the whole point. Their ultimate long term goal is to have virtually no private cars at all. 80-90% of population take public transport. PHV to supplement those who need private transport. If you die die want to drive, Govt will make it really difficult for you, monetary wise and infrastructure wise (you notice they removing a lot of public car parks nowadays).

Everything they are doing is towards that goal.

They can try, the result might be worse than 2011 result and they can repent. Haha

you can do whatever you want and force it down to people but end of the day is it what people want?

They are to serve the people and now seems like we have to listen to them on everything. always have survey but never once got chance to be invited to join those survey.

I did went for one of their ForwardSG discussion thingys and complained about rising cost of housing. Let's just say that their attitude is a bit yaya papaya.
