But Maggie Smith who played professor Minerva Mcgonagall passed away at age of 89.

The greatest compliment is when you have read the books before you watched the movie.

And now the imagined characters face and mannerisms will be changed to the actor or actress. 

Minerva Mcgonagall in my mind now has Maggie's Smith face and mannerisms. 

Though to be fair the potter movies were so well casted and faithful to the books that they blend perfectly. And all the British actors were so talented.
