I just spend 100+ every 8k km on an oil+filter change at a simple workshop.

They can along the way also do FOC things like rotate tyres and do undercarriage check.

IMHO.
My car under warranty.  🤔

Out of curiosity, Is it important to consider engine oil SAPS level to "protect" the catalytic converter?

as far as I know, SAPS is relevant if your car engine is fitted with particulate filter

not sure about the impact of SAPS on catalytic converters

should be irrelevant as engine without particulate filter running on non-low SAPS oil without problem for a long long time

So rich to do servicing by BM...

I settled my basic maintenance outside at around $60 every 10k km.

In other intervals, I did a transmission oil change or a brake pad change.

IMHO.
I think I still got 5 more "free" service. 🤣
Mine is hybrid, so I need to go back and "find out" what they do.  🤣

I recall BM provides a long hybrid battery warranty. If you intend to send your car for servicing or repair to outside workshop, then watch out for the warranty terms and conditions...

IMHO.
That time is NiMH. Only recently they have some for the Lithium ones.
Anyway, I still hunting for a reliable workshop that can do hybrid.

Yes, DIY and it is those drain from the dipstick hole.
I just need to change EO at 5k,  skipping the filter because it is too unsafe unless I get proper equipment i.e. floor jack and jack stands.
Floor jack I still have to think how to do maintenance service. 🤣

I did my own oil and oil filter change before. Bought jack stands and all the necessary tools from tb. Still have them with me.

To be honest, very tiring, because I used the scissor jack from my car to raise the car for the jack stands. Need to jack one side, place the jack stand, lower the jack, jack the other side and place the other jack stand. and reverse the process when oil change is done.

If I had the same type of jack that workshops use, it will be much less tiring.

Only did it once and more or less covered about 60 to 70% of cost that I would have paid for labour outside (market rate $30)
