Joke aside, the scenery when traveling along the mountains area at Shangrila I will not want to missed it.

My trip there 10yrs ago was a small group private tour arrange by China friends.

Smell already also cannot come out... plus all the flies, bigger than your thumbnail flying around your face aggressively... wah... China ulu area toilet... don't play play hor...

If you do the tripby looking into the arrangements on your own - I would say forget it lar... sure kenna chop carrot head until gao gao... best is to go with conducted tours in Singapore... China is one place I won't travel on my own cos there are many 'rules', and must always pay 'school fees' gao gao... so I rather not go... I don't want to always be on the lookout, hyper vigilant and alert, plus stress over your driver, tour guide demanding extra 'fees' for the stupidest reason... and these people can smell your money a mile off... and the sharks will start to swarm you...

my parents say yunnan is the most "dirty" province that they visited in china. 

Few people in their tour group had some experiences in the hotels.

The highest peak for a mountain I had ever visited was at Yunnan 玉龙雪山.

Reach by cable car at 4506m. Only stay there for about 15min and faster went down as my wife and younger daughter had very bad attitude sickness, bad headache and short of breathe. Cable car station beow is at around 3300m.

This is exactly where they will chop carrot head... sell you oxygen cylinders... say can help with altitude sickness... whatever...

Wechat can use foreign bank card to pay bills since this August, I think. Confirm can now as I now in Beijing. You can use it to rent bicycle, ride subway and call Didi too.
