But not every place have MRT at doorstep le, many times still need to take bus to go to MRT station or take bus from MRT station to reach my destination lo. MRT not say more predictable but waiting time for MRT is confirmed shorter than waiting for bus. Even during off peak hours, longest waiting time for MRT is less than 8-10 mins. Whereas bus usually must wait more than 8 mins even during peak hours. Off peak sometimes can wait up to 15 mins or even longer.

In this case, bus waiting time no good. Anyway, they really need to improve bus waiting time. Nowadays if miss the bus, usually need to wait at least 10-15 mins for the next bus. Really wasted lots of time waiting for buses. Some people might say now have those bus app which can see the bus arrival timing, so should not have any problem. But whether got bus app or not, this is not the main point lo. I have been taking busses around thesedays and I find it ok. The timing on the app is quite accurate and if I missed it, I take it that it is my fault. Anyway, 10-15 min wait is not long for me. I just look at scenery, the trees, the buildings, the many nice cars that pass by and feel the wind on my face. When the mind quiets down and just feel the present moment, time passes quickly. 😁 Edited April 4 by Starry

If by the time all the lines like Jurong Line and Cross Island Line finish and your place still far from MRT, then too bad. Govt cannot help you anymore.

But if i am taking MRT or bus and need to change to bus, the app is useless. 10-15 mins is consider a long wait, as it adds longer travelling time. Example my travelling time taken to go from my house to my workplace is 30 mins but have not added the waiting time waiting for the bus. So if i need to wait 15 mins for the bus, my total travelling time would be 45 mins which i find really waste time if need to take bus. 😅 Now i know why people willing to pay high premium price for houses that near to MRT. I think no matter how many MRT lines they build, sure to have HDB still not near to MRT la. Not possible to have MRT near to every HDB. Then for those private, confirmed cannot have MRT near to them. I think their target is to have every (or at least vast majority of) residence to be a max 10 mins walk from a MRT station. If you fall outside that zone after all the lines are completed, then the Govt will take it that it's a personal choice you make.

I see old people using it, young people using it and family people also using it to fetch their kids. If this goes on, teens and domestic helpers will also start using it. This is a recipe for some bad accident waiting to happen. Edited April 4 by Starry

Most of the increase is due to fuel cost increase in 2022 if you bother to read the press release.

Buses are going electric, so next will say electricity cost increase, infrastructure cost increase, maintenance cost increase, salary cost increase, EV bus procurement costs blah blah blah 🤐 No. This is the formula https://www.ptc.gov.sg/fare-adjustment-formula-and-mechanism All transport owner can calculate the increase for 2024. With the SGD beginning to drop, imported inflation will also start treating it's head. Today I sold leftovet THB bought in February for a holiday at a 2.6% profit. Coming, this difference needs to be imported, like for Thai rice, for example. Nuts Myself and friends are ALL looking to leave in the next few years. Close the businesses, and move, with related results for the business and staff As SMEs, piece hikes have gone too far. All we hear is money from the government to the poorer levels for this and that, which is fine, but more and more money is being spent and set side as this percentage just gets bigger and bigger. As others have said, good luck.

Rollover 12.9% As long as there is no drastic decrease in energy cost, the increase will likely maintain at 6%.
