Don’t scare him la. Almost all I see when doing engine work they use it. Especially the engine block bolts.
some tire shops wayang use of torque wrench. Use impact gun to tighten then use torque wrench. The impact gun already fully and over tighten. Using the torque wrench is just wayang.
this is the state of shitty uneducated mechanics in SG. I avoid these.

Haha no scare no scare. It is difficult  to find a workshop that follows all the service specs or even  just follows some proper steps, so i am prepared to  take some risks when using  non AD workshops. Want to be cheapo and drive old car cannot be too sleepless about it,  if all else fails,   change car lor...old car i mean😁

Ah di, cannot like that say  ,  drive COE car  must be prepared for repair , cannot suka suka scrap and change car. One have to look at total cost of ownership as well, a car with low COE is worth maintaining unless the condition is too junk; especially with today's coe price, the amount of money paid to change car can fund significant amount of repair.

yeah sure. Since your plans is keeping for many years to come and its a really bad time to change cars now. And your car is a generally reliable model.

I don't have such patience.

DIY colonoscopy (if you dare) 😁

I dare.

Can lend me?

My MIL constipated and want to see what's causing the blockage

and why she is so full of sh1t.

No need to wash after you check your car.

The engine oil will help lubricate and make it smoother

when it goes up her.

:D

Damage ? $5.5k. Expensive?

No its reasonable for all the parts and the time to take the engine apart and put it back.

Along the way the found the brake vacuum pump to have some leak and had it replaced

Could be a life saver or at least stopping in time.

Once at my regular WS one mechanic touched the brake discs with his oily fingers. I told him to clean up with brake cleaner. He said never mind one, after driving and braking the discs would be clean. Really WTF!

hard to say

skali the rattling is from a loose bolt of the starter motor 😁

last time my ex car also had rattling sound from the engine bay

I traced the rattling sound high and low, almost pulling all my hair out

at the end found it

it was a small pebble dancing around on the engine undertray

another time was rattling sound after ATF change

it was so bad until I dare not drive the car and towed it back to the workshop

at the end found a socket (tool) left on the steel gearbox crossmember

in aviation industries, this is called FOD (foreign object damage)
