All this while, I have been observing Bruno Fernandes and Rashford that they never seem to track back to help out when they were in the opposition 3/4 mark..... [:(]

They stays up front more than they track back to help. :wut:

Football is a team game and total commitment from all 11 players. :we-all-gonna-die:

Perhaps overly-confident that the defence would be tight but not true with Martinez and Shaw injured. Also, Onana's mistakes are turning out to be a calamity and liability now, as compared with DDG's confidence and shot-stopping prowess.

As for Rashford's loss of form, it's similar to Sancho and it was evident from the last 2 games, he now looks to pass instead of taking shots at goal, again perhaps from being told to look for better options instead of being selfish. Not working too well for ETH since his new signings (with the exception of the injured Reguilon) but he has many options on the bench.

ManU 2 (Mctominay / Dalot) - Sheffield United 1 (EPL - Away)

Slow off the starting blocks again with Sheffield having more of possession but against the run of play, Mctominay was the hero when he scored in the 28th minute and turned villain when he gave away a handball penalty six minutes later. The shift of positions later, with Amrabat, Evans and Mctominay moving forward with Bruno more in defensive duties with Maguire, Lindelof and Dalot, lay the groundwork for more attacking flair with Hojlund and Bruno missing good chances. It was level at 1-1- till half time.

The three changes in the 63rd minute for Hojlund, Mctominay and Antony for Martial, Eriksen and Ganarcho gave more impetus in attack and urgency to get the decisive goal and it paid dividends when Dalot scored in the 77th minute from Lindelof's pass. Late substitutes for the injured Evans for Varane and Rashford for Mason Mount kept the slim margin and the win was a fitting tribute to MU legend, Sir Bobby Charlton.

ManU  0 - ManC 3 (EPL - Home)

The game plan was to control the midfield with Eriksen and Mctominay but that allowed ManC to attack from the flanks. A penalty was awarded for Hojlund pulling down Rodri in the box after VAR which Haaland converted in the 28th minute. The relentless attack with 16 forays in our box with 61% possession, compared to only 6 and 31% respectively by the world's best team (triple winners) with the quality of the team was apparent. An excellent save by Onana from Haaland's header towards the end of the first half kept ManC's lead at 1-0.

A substitute at the start of the second half by Mount for the yellow-carded Amrabat paved the way for a tactical change. An early goal by Haaland's header made the situation all the more difficult to get back into the game. Another two subs for Hojlund and Lindelof for Ganarcho and Regiulon in the 73rd minute but Foden's goal off Haaland's pass in the 79th minute put the game to bed. Late substitutions for Rashford and Eriksen by Martial and Antony did not make any impact and a loss to a team with dominance, sheer class in fluidity and passing prowess will make ETH feel the blues!

ManU 0 - 3 Newcastle

Lost at home ground again .... :ouch-it-hurts:

Same lost score as ManC  :lll._.:

About time they had a hard look for ETH to remain with a string of losses that defies logic compared to last season. Tactically out-manoeuvred, ineffective selection of the starting line-up, substitutions, with players unhappy with his management over the Sancho issue, the effect in the dressing room has it's toll on the players' performance. His new additions have not proven to be a good buy. The Glazers issue is no more an excuse.

Why are you here?

On second thought I doubt they would want to face us anytime soon.

Last if history repeat itself.

ManU 1 (Bruno) - Fulham 0 (EPL - Away)

With Hojlund in front and flanked by Ganarcho (for the off-form Rashford) and Antony, the defence comprised AWB, Maguire, Evans and Dalot while the mid had Bruno, Mctominay and Eriksen. A goal by Mctominay was judged off-side based on a VAR "subjective off-side" by Maguire, with Fulham looked the more dangerous on the attack although we had more of the possession with 0-0 score at half time.

The second half had Fulham getting more chances, with a replacement for the ineffective Antony with Pellestri in the 62nd minute followed by Martial and Mount for Hojlund and Eriksen in the 78th minute. The game-changer by Bruno who shimmied past 2 players to score at the stroke of fulltime saved ETH the blushes.

With Hojlund not the expected goal scorer unlike Ibra and Lukaku who although expected the ball to be passed and fed accurately to them but were effective in the final third, he does not seem to be industrious as compared to Ganarcho (or even Pellestri in this game, and yet to score in a PL game and live up to expectations!

I think man u cannot play eriksen and bruno together, both very attacking minded, hardly track back, average workrate, both very similar no 10 role.

eth alway play this 2 together, plus 2 very attacking minded wingers, i feel it make man u mid very soft.

Agree with your observation! With Mount, Amrabat and Mctominay, also like Bruno and Eriksen going forward, the mid becomes exposed as we've seen lately. With the exception of Hojlund and Ganarcho, the rest are not contributing to the defence as they are easily outpaced and will be a strain on these forwards after sometime. Add in Dalot and AWB as you mentioned, it easy to see why we've let in more goals (16) than we have scored, with only 12 and lowest in the top seven above us in the table!

ManU 1 (Lindelof) - Luton 0 (EPL - Home)

A change for Rashford in the starting eleven on the right flank with Ganarcho on the left in support of Hojlund, with Bruno, Eriksen and Mctominay in midfield. The defence were manned by Reguilon, Lindelof, Maguire and Dalot. A replacement was made in the 39th minute when the injured Eriksen was replaced by Mount. With Luton packing the bus, there were a few good chances but finishing was poorly executed and it was 0-0 at half time.

A corner by Bruno created the first goal when Lindelof slammed the ball through the mash of Luton defenders in the 59th minute. Another substitute for Ganarcho by Antony in the 67th minute with Rashford back to his preferred left wing position, and whose first touch was to provide an inch-perfect pass to Rashford who should have scored but slammed the ball directly at their goalie. A double change for Hojlund and Reguilon in the 78th minute with Martial and Varane. Another win with the slimmest of margins, no doubt helped by Luton's goalie with his many fine saves.

ManU 3 (Ganarcho / Rashford-pen / Martial) - Everton (EPL - Away)

The many injuries to the first squad allowed Martial, Shaw and Mainoo to start, with a peach of a bicycle kick by Ganarcho off a pass from Dalot in the 2nd minute which would be considered goal of the month and worthy of more. Complacency set in thereafter with Everton having more possession and scoring chances but we held on to the lead till half time.

A penalty was awarded in the 54th minute when Martial was brought down by Ashley Young which Bruno was kind enough to allow Rashford to convert. A double substitution in the 72 minute for Amrabat and Pellistri for Mainoo and Ganarcho and we put the game to bed when Martial coolly dinked the ball over Pickford in the 75th minute off Bruno's pass, followed by AWB coming on for Shaw and later Martial for Hannibal. A clean sheet and 6th in the table and a must win against Galatasaray on Wednesday.

ManU 0 - Everton 1 (EPL - Away)

With one of the most dismal performances, we were lucky to keep the scoreline low, even with a disallowed goal for Maguire's offside towards the end . Completely overun in midfield and kept in our own half most of the time, the industrious Newcastle showed what class was all about and the contrast in possession, pressing and attacking flair revealed.

The new inductees have under-performed and Onana has been calamitous in goal, with the existing players like Eriksen, Casemiro, Varane etc on the decline in standards, especially Rashford whose 2 goals this season pales in comparison with the 30 goals that he scored last season. Looks like ETH has lost the dressing room and his reign at ManU!
