New Rules & Longer Games  :wut:

And Howard Webb will be the Chief Referee   [sly]

ESPN News Premier League changes explained: Longer games, stricter refs

The Premier League returns on Friday and, as is always the case, there will be a few new things to get used to. From longer matches, to a clampdown on time-wasting and more bookings for bad behaviour, expect referees to show their mean streak this season.

Referees chief Howard Webb has insisted change is here to stay, rather than being enforced for just a few weeks. So, players and managers are going to have to adapt, and quickly.

We run through what supporters should look out for as the new season kicks off.

Games are going to last a lot longer

We first saw it at the men's World Cup in Qatar, and English football got its first taste when the new EFL season kicked off last weekend when all but two matches reached total clock time of 100 minutes. Now it's coming to the Premier League.

It's all part of a drive by The IFAB, football's lawmakers, to increase effective playing time, otherwise known as how long the ball is in play.

No wonder this year opening match, Charity Shield Cup, so many Yellow cards were shown.... :slow:

First Yellow Card to Arsenal player at 10 minutes mark. 😎

EPL trying out no substitution of players after 85 minutes mark to prevent time wasting.  [sly]

unless serious head injuries or broken bones. 😉

Instead of champion. Let say who will be going down?

My prediction. Everton, Luton, west ham or forest.

Everton. No new player coming in. FFP.

Luton. Newly promoted. Players not at premier league level. A yoyo club with up and down...up and down.

West Ham. Rice left with no immediate replacement. David Moyes contract left only one year even though he bought them the Europe conference title. No sense of moving forward.

Nottingham forest. No new player coming in due to FFP. Last year bought too many and yet to offload from their book.

I will visit this post come end of season. See how many I have gotten right. 😁

West Ham, I don't think so. :we-all-gonna-die:

David M past records proven mid-table manager :secret-laugh:

They just brought Maguire for $30m pound. :slow:

@Picnic06-Biante15 super  Hard. How to know serious or not.

Nowadays football players can act better then most actors

Referee to decide.... :we-all-gonna-die:

If not, time will be added on until the player up on his feet.

It could affect the adding on time to max of 30 minutes.... [sly]

I dun agree with the no sub after 85 stuff.

But it's only fair every sec of time wasted is added  back👍

Dark Horse - Newcastle

Chelsea more dark horse then Newcastle.

Almost whole new team. New manager.

Newcastle pre season is good. Hard to imagine they cannot.get into top 4.

Very surprised they let their star winger go.(the name hard to spell).

I thought he was their star player...

Shocking! Allan Saint-Maximin

I thought Eddie would hold on to him.
