I have never step foot on china. Got this from family chat group.  Don't ask me how to use it. Ok.😁

Use your touch and go ewallet. 😁

TNG eWallet allows Malaysians to make cashless payments in China via the Alipay+ network. Since early this year, TNG eWallet has been accepted by over 10 million Alipay merchants in mainland China.

Making a QR payment in China is just as easy as making a QR payment in Malaysia. You can scan a static QR code at the shop or display your QR code to the merchant.

I didn't notice TNG payment in Shanghai but saw it in Seoul. BUT no PAYNOW!

PS air tickets are cheap now and hotels are reasonable. You should go open eye a bit see how far we are behind everything.

That's cos we have our own e-wallet infrastructure gradually. Thailand banks also has to some degree.

The other SEA countries have to build base on Alipay's expertise in the above. Hence the backend is all compatible.

If you GF is willing to lend you bank account.

Wechat/Alipay requires verification before use especially those that are tied to PRC Unionpay Card.

TnG is an established player in MY market.

Lazada Group invested in TnG in 2022.

yup, few years ago i went there and used cash. The waiter smirked in a condescending way and said, "long time never see notes already". Diu...

Then i switched to Alipay from that moment onwards but it was so much easier to use then until they tightened up the system.

GF thingy aside, now using wechat/alipay for payments with foreign cards is quite a breeze.
