Playtime Twincharged June 30, 2023 Share June 30, 2023 I never met anyone from those colleges b4, anyone planning on going higher studies may have higher chance now? Background of court case: Currently, Asians have the highest test scores, but are artificially limited from admission due to affirmative action favoring mainly blacks. Kinda American bumiputra policy. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/supreme-court/supreme-court-strikes-affirmative-action-programs-harvard-unc-rcna66770 WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Thursday struck down affirmative action programs at the University of North Carolina and Harvard in a major victory for conservative activists, ending the systematic consideration of race in the admissions process. The court ruled that both programs violate the Equal Protection Clause of the Constitution and are therefore unlawful. The vote was 6-3 in the UNC case and 6-2 in the Harvard case, in which liberal Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson was recused. ↡ Advertisement

Kinda American bumiputra policy. Like American Bumiputra policy? There is one very big difference. Every country affirmative action policy protects the minorities. Except in Bolehland that affirmative action policy only protects the majority! Since when the majority have to be protected? Secretly many racist in US want to adopt the MY bumiputra policy so only whites can go uni, can get jobs, can vote etc etc
Jamesc Hypersonic June 30, 2023 Share June 30, 2023 (edited) I worry about the IT industry. I use Andriod phone and Windows PC and all the new AI logic is written by mostly Indian and white man! What if they inadvertently encode their own biasness into the AI? How many Indian and white women work in IT writing AI logic? How many black and Asians writing AI codes? So few women means even less lesbians writing AI logic. What if the AI discriminates against Asians and lesbians because it have been programmed that way? So if less blacks and minorities get into universities less chance they will be represented in shaping the AI which we will all be using tomorrow. Some of them still have very vague admission criteria. Some even move away from SAT scores. Legacy students acceptance is 30+% (your laopeh laobu is harvard alumni) vs at best 5% for the general applicant. For the ivy league/harvard etc, they even screen who your parents are before they accept. And also of course donations. Who can pay full course without scholarships. For the famous schools, they have no lack of applicants also. Edited June 30, 2023 by Lala81

Jamesc Hypersonic June 30, 2023 Share June 30, 2023 The problem is not how many black students the problem is how many US colleges have black presidents? Playtime Twincharged June 30, 2023 Author Share June 30, 2023 The SAT chart shows why it's the asians that are particularly unhappy, it's not about who gets in or how many. It's about why someone less qualified keep getting accepted. Whether they later change to an easier subject or even actually graduate is another story. The video below it's long but good. At about 52min.. the firework starts. At the end about 102min it's another black guy who defends the Asian dude. 1

Isn't legacy admission a form of discrimination? So say u get top grades. U apply to say 20 colleges. Maybe 1-2 ivy league uni reply to you, yes we have space. But they offer you no scholarship, tuition and misc fees are roughly around 40k usd per year. Not including living expenses. And your state university replies back to you (those non california uni cos cali even state uni is competitive), i give u full scholarship. That's about 200k of debt that some students will straightaway avoid. Ok 1 spot available. I offer it to someone on the "waiting list", same conditions. They will bite off Harvard's hand to get it. Not saying this is a sinister process/conspiracy. But if u follow like those social media posts, lot of them will mention various degrees of such scenarios. Especially those from normal joe/poor backgrounds. To get a full tutition scholarship is like striking the lottery for them.
