thrill-seekers and adventurers need an element of risk.

no risk = no thrill, no adventure

only issue is how far along the "risk" scale.

unfortunately society needs this type of people to drive innovation.

i dun think this is even an adventure, if nothing happen they were just sitting in a cramp capsule, take turn to peep out of the tiny window, breathing in each other sweat and if someone had a bad stomach then good luck.

Likewise Everest also same same but different scenario , Nepal govt is hard pressed for cash , charging USD11k  permit fee until traffic jam up there like our causeway and some people get delayed and overstretched and oxygen runs out and mental faculties go haywire …….just die like that …littered bodies in like permafrost …some bodies come down during avalanches  …….mainly because of too many unregulated tours …… end of the day everyone wants a Kodak moment up there ….. ok lah Insta moment …….

Oceangate should have just build titan and put a 4k screen instead of viewing port

Just need dive a few meters , using the Logitech controller to play 7hs of video showing nothing and 1hr showing the youtube video.

Confirm cheaper ,faster and safer..

Huh these people are thrill-seekers?

I take aeroplane to go Japan and my plane exploded. Am I a thrill seeker?

I take high speed train and my train crash. Am I a thrill seeker?

I take ferry to Jeju Island and my ferry sink. Am I a thrill seeker?

I drive to my MIL place and my car crash. Am I a thrill seeker?

:D

What's the difference people take a plane and their plane exploded or this sub exploded?

If one day subs taking people to see wreaks is as common as planes flying then no one will say thrill seeker.

When in England the first steam train go more than 30 mph people say humans cannot go so fast. Their bodies will explode.

The first few fights on propeller planes people say rich people got too much money and thrill seeker.

And a lot of those propeller planes also crash.

Now we all fly at 1,000 kmh and no one says take plane is thrill seeker.

:D

from this high profile news, i actually googled and learnt new knowledge

1. humans are made up of 60% water and 40% tissues... hence beyond the crushing depth, the air in the tissues (eg lungs, ears, etc) will collapse resulting in death*

2. deep sea fishes are almost 100% water hence they can adapt and survive (water cannot be compressed)

3. whales compress their lungs before taking deep dives, hence they can survive in deep waters too

4. it takes 36km deep to crush human bones, way deeper than the Mariana Trench, deepest point (11km) on earth

*last time i always thought a human being will be crushed and flattened by the pressure in very deep waters 😅

But what about the pressure from the hull/ vessel which suddenly compresses inwards....... like squashing action into smithereens ......

based on my newly acquired knowledge, it's because there is air inside the vessel

air can be compressed unlike water

under extreme pressure, the body of the vessel give way and cave inwards, because the space (air) inside allows further compression
