Chelsea have to sell by June 30 to balance the books.

Today is already June 16. Fire sale coming!

:D

As per the Evening Standard, players like Mason Mount, Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech, Kalidou Koulibaly, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Conor Gallagher, Romelu Lukaku and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could all be sold.

However, Chelsea might have to hurry to get some of these players off the books in the first few weeks after the transfer window opens on June 10.

For those sales to be included in their financial accounts for 2022-23, Chelsea have to register them before June 30.

What's making things more complicated is that Chelsea can only make deals with other English clubs - which means they might have to sell to their Premier League rivals.

This was always the plan after Chelsea spent over £600 million on transfers in the past 12 months. Still, it puts extra pressure on the club to start working on these deals as soon as possible.

to be honest... the list do not really look appealing, except Mount. There aren't bright line cases which will immediately improve Pool's current crop of players immediately.

Poch will have his hands full trying to determine which players to keep or let go.  The team's harmony and unity will certainly be a challenge.

Seriously not sure how the spending spree in the last 2 windows is > 600M and the squad really looks... just good/decent. not outstanding or any players jump out as being truly WC...

How? Todd!

Most clubs director of football identify style of play

Chelsea no DoF so haven't decide what is their style of play yet.

Only after debating style of play decide which manage suits that system best.

Chelsea step 1 never do so just go find a big name manager.

Hired Poch and never ask him what players you want?

Todd hired Poch and tell him I bough 600 million pounds of players for you already.

Problem is June 30 is financial reporting and Spending 600 million Sales 0!

Books not balanced and how to report FIFA fair play as balanced?

:D

Fire sales coming soon.

Maybe 50m and Todd will drive Mount to Anfield himself

if bought on June 29 before midnight!

People see Newcastle and say wah 320 billion Saudi fund

and Newcastle can get any player they want. I so jealous my club no have rich oil sheiks.

Liverpool budget 2023 is 150 million.

Newcastle budget 2023 is 75 million because FIFA fair play

says can only spend from "own" income and not pump in money.

:D

Poor US owned Liverpool can spend twice as much as oil rich New castles in the sky.

I happier with our budget than theirs.

Alexander-Arnold inspires England to sweep Malta aside 4-0 in Euros qualifier

Trent Alexander-Arnold was given an opportunity in midfield by Gareth Southgate – as the right-sided No 8 – and he responded with a performance that showcased his near unique ability on the ball. His passing was on point, the weight of it, the fizz and assurance, too, often first-time. He read the spaces nicely, his positioning sound and there was also the vicious long-range blast for England’s second goal.

What if Fab plays at right back and TAA plays right midfield?

In possession Fab moves to midfield to partner Bajectic as the 2 holding midfielders.

Mac Allister playing left midfield and TAA playing right midfield

moves up to support the front 3 of Gekpo, Saah and Nunez?

3 2 2 3 WM formation.

:D

Means TAA no need to be right back and can attack

and right back has Fab but in possession he becomes

a midfielder supporting Bajectic.

The transfer market seems tough this window for most clubs.  It is a big question whether Utd can get a CF / GK which they need, Arsenal is chasing Rice but he wont come cheap.  City looks likely to lose a few key 1st team players -  Gündoğan, Silva, Walker all in the conversation.  Chelsea seems to chasing lost causes in the market and needs to sell first.

Better news for Pool  overnight... the train and momentum in offloading Thiago seems to be set in motion... even the Echo has started the conversation... if he goes, Pool will have more budget since he is on super high wages... sorry but true... we may be better off without him in the squad.

What is he doing at right back?

He is a no 10.

Right backs are only worth 40m

No 10s are worth 130m

If TAA plays right midfield then Nunez can play centre forward and score a lot.

Steven Gerrard also started at right back and then went to centre midfield and lapses in concentration meant we let in a lot of goals

So Rafa played him at right midfield with lesser defensive responsibility playing Alonso and Mascherano as the 2 defensive mids and Gerrard kept finding Torres from the right and Torres scored a lots of goals.

Its so similar.

the debate of TAA's best position remains to be argued or debated. I think it will evolve over the years.  Just like a lot of other players including Stevie G, Jamie Carragher etc.

Right now, i think Klopp is probably set to use him as the inverted RB.  That looks like Plan A for next season.

As a Plan B, I think there is room to consider putting a more regular RB to solidify the defense further. e.g. playing Gomez as the regular RB. That is what City has done successfully for the season, playing almost a entire team of CBs across its back 4.  With Stones playing the inverted full back, City's backline becomes a back 3 when Stones moved into the midfield area.   Copy-cat may not be bad thing.

Gündoğan is confirmed joining Barca. Hope Silva joins the exit party to PSG. It may look like a transitional season for City and let's see if they can keep the same momentum.  Kovaevic is joining from Chelsea to boost the midfield however I think he is probably not in the same class as  Gündoğan / Silva.  Time will tell.
