think the next signings wont be that fast. they probably already spent a few months chasing down Mac Allister as that is the critical piece. The next signings are more for back ups and potentials.

still expect at least 2 further signings... let's see how things pan out.

the likes of Declan Rice, Caceido and Mount are available... but none of them will come cheap so Pool wont be in the picture.  Tielememans have signed for A. Villa likely followed by Ox.   Maddison likely headed for Spurs.

I thot personal terms agreed with Thuram?

Mac Allister reminds me of Lallana... a versatile central attacking who can shuttle between number 8 and number 10 roles

Konate has come out vocally to appeal the club for more signings... interesting as we seldom hear the players in recent times to say things openly. but again, nothing surprising as this is all too painfully obvious, not rocket science at all.  we cant compete with City with our current squad and it is up to the owners to decide how competitive they want the club to be.

Konate revealed that he has a strong relationship with Thuram and he would love to see him join Liverpool.

"Khephren, he's like a younger brother, he's someone I saw grow,"

"I was with his older brother at academy level. I saw him perform well and progress greatly...it was incredible. Even when he came to join the French national team for his first cap. I saw him in training and I was really surprised by his height and his technical ability.

"[I would be] very happy to see him join Liverpool, I would take him under my wing and I will do everything to help him progress. Now it's his turn to work. But I'll do everything for him to become a top player."

Konate has made steady progress himself at Liverpool since joining from RB Leipzig in 2021, making his senior France debut last year and earning nine caps so far at senior level.

The defender has been called up to Didier Deschamps' squad for the June internationals, while Thuram will head to the European Championships with the Under-21 side.

honestly, i think such vocal support just tells me that the deal is probably...  not looking good. hence the need to urge the club to get on it.

so let's not get our hopes too high.  Remember how these player support for people like Jude Bellingham... in the end, he chose another club or rather we were priced out.

Thuram or not... we need to buy a defensive mid as Trent seemed to be ready for a slot at right midfield unless Morton gets pushed into 1st team. Fabinho can cover CB and RB to allow Robbo and Trent to bomb forward. Bacetic can be the other DM. We can also deploy two deep lying midfielder to allow Mac Allister more room up front.

If Gakpo drops deeper then we can deploy in a 4-2-2-2 formation and interchange between 4-3-3, 4-3-2-1 or 4-4-2

think the DM role is probably going to be covered by Fabinho and Hendro. Bajectic is the next backup to the role. Hence, I think we are covered for the no.6 role.  Hendro will be another year older and he wont be playing the b2b advanced midfielder position much in the the next season.

The curious role of Thiago will be be under the microscope soon.  Given the inverted midfielder of Trent fole and Thiago having even less legs to run since he is another year older, I do not think Thiago will get a lot of game time in this system.   He may need to reinvent himself as a ball playing no.6 (xabi alonso comes to mind) but will be extremely suspect in defensive situations.  I say if there is a club willing to take his high wages, Pool may consider selling him off early.

The advanced midfielders in the squad will likely be down to Big Mac, Jones, Elliott. Hence, we can see why there is an urgent cry to add to this rotation.

Liverpool's first choice are Nice’s Khephren Thuram and Borussia Monchengladbach's Manu Kone.

If we miss out on these two then Liverpool will bid for second choice Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia for £40m.

think we probably need to nick 1 of the 2 choices.... we should be ok for the season.  Need to manage playing time for Elloitt, Carvalho etc. Better news coming out last night on Thuram so let's see

The frontline is fully settled. looks like we are down to a CB or RB to complete the line up for next season.

Pool's first fixture was always going to be an away game since anfield wont be ready for the 1st round of fixture.  It will be the match of the 1st fixtures as Pool travels to the Bridge to face Poch's Chelsea.  It will be a blockbuster of a game... to challenge for the top 4 and title, Pool needs to improve dramatically its away form.  Pool dun usually do well at the Bridge so odds are not favorable.. but we'll see
