As if giving Pool keeper the ball mean Pool will definitely score.

Liverpool are that good?

Not happy complain to PGMOL lah.

When Pool had Spur's VAR all the other managers said live with it, swings and roundabouts.

incredible win at Forest. Pool looked tired and out of ideas.  But it managed to squeeze out the win that gives it a fighting chance on the table.

City will arrive at Anfield with a rich vein of form and firepower. Phil Foden playing his best football ever, Haarling back to his scoring and KVB looking sharper and fitter by the game.  However, let the Anfield roar and the 12th man effect carry the team again. if Pool wins, it will have one hand on the trophy. If it draws, all is not lost as City will have to play Arsenal before the end of the season.  So, there will be collateral damage to these 2 chasing clubs.

We'll need players like Dom, Nunez and Salah all fit and firing for this sunday crunch match. Europa league match this thur is secondary in priority.

Law 8 in the FA's Law of the Games on 'The Start and Restart of Play' states:

The ball is dropped for the defending team goalkeeper in their penalty area if, when play was stopped:

the ball was in the penalty area or

the last touch of the ball was in the penalty area

In all other cases:

the referee drops the ball for one player of the team that last touched the ball

Verdict: Because Konate (on the defending team) went down in the penalty area. Additionally, Liverpool should have been awarded a free kick for the high boot on Konate in the first place.

Good night overall. Pool should be safely through to the q-finals. Nunez's goals were both gems and he is on a hot streak in recent games.  Salah and Dom came on for useful minutes, they are in contention to start this coming Sunday.  The only concern is Konate pulling up and limping off.  He is unlikely to recover in time for the weekend top of table clash.

of all the likely starters for the city game, Robbo and Endo played a full 90 min.  Gapko, Elloitt also played a full game but unlikely to start now that Dom and Salah are in contention to start on Sun.

His second goal he took his time and didn't snatch at the shot like before.

Gomez and VVD got some for city match.

Dom and Mo back

Nunez and Diaz scoring as well as SoBossy

and we didn't even play our best finisher Danns.

Not too bad shape to face City.

Macca is a better pen taker than Salah.

He is not a hit and hope but just places it in the corner.

The keeper guess right also cannot reach it.

Penalty taking is all about confidence. Salah has lost quite a bit of that in this season, which basically has followed through from last season's misses.  All regular penalty takers go through these spells at some point. Having said so,   I wouldnt switch to another pen taker on the account of 1 kick.  Salah has scored alot of pressure penalties, including the champion league final, so we shouldnt just discount that.  Different players have different strokes of penalty style.  Salah used to be able to slam the ball in with precision which is my preference instead of precision placing only, which sometime the GK has a chance to reach it if he guesses right.
