People are reading too much into this.   It is to commemorate 100 years of our founding father, why must see it as milking for political reason ?  How much can the government make out of this ?  And it is not even near to election.  Haiz.

Aiya, they must constantly keep reminding people in sg that if no LKY, there is no what sg of today achievement la. So if there are any chances, they must repeat playing the old record again and again. 😅

It is propoganda 101. Ppl more or less look to the lky branding. If they market themselves as whiter than white it's not just for show. They need to prove themselves but when it fails...have to fall back on propoganda. The thing is not everyone can be like him and his team of pioneering govt.

A lot to repairs are needed due to the recent scandals. Of course must do smth to remind the ppl who made sgp worked.

If 100 years it makes sense the commemorative currency should be the $100 dollar note but to make it attenable to almost everyone they have to make it $10 for obvious reasons. Ironically before he passed he specifically said that he didnt want to be on a stamp or a coin. Asked for his Oxley home to be torn down etc. There must be a reason for this. One of the reasons I can think of is that his family isnt a monarch. He doesnt wish for ppl to worship him. But the exact opposite is happening. There must be a reason.

To commorate the achievement of Singapore I reckon a theme like "founding government", "pioneer generation" etc..etc.....not a single figure head. Only Communist do such propaganda. A single figure head for people to "worship". 😡

Queen is still celebrating Freddie's birthday every year. He would be 77 this year. 

I guess people want to commemorate and celebrate the life of a person whom they respect. And I'm sure people will visit the graves of the loved ones every birthday and anniversary. Just that LKY is on a national scale.

The reason is the son CMI and have to keep milking his father’s achievements.

Just remove the Merlion and put LKY statue or head there.

That's why lky said he doesnt want his face on a coin. It's only for monarchs. Back then when he hated Britain's imperialism rule over Asia in the 50s and 60s, these monarchs on the currency that they used only reminded him every single day. He knew it will only stoke anger.
