Lakeview is another big plot which was taken back decades ago. I suppose it's reserved for yet to be born Singaporeans...

actually there are many plots of unused lands in Singapore lah, dun get bluffed by the constant headlines that Singapore got no more spaces

Punggol and Sengkang still have many small plots of secondary forest

at Old Holland Road, there's a big piece of land that used to be a former Hakka cemetery (rumoured to be the burial place of LKY's grandfather), exhumed in the 70s but never touched for any redevelopment for 50 years

i wish they will never touch Ubin

Exactly!

thats why I’m so pissed whenever some “expert” from the property sector always say it’s a rare listing, near mrt near sch near amenities near PIE when there’s so many other “rare” options available.

That said I’m also concerned, why the need to keep building and tearing down what’s left of nature.

Sometimes I think the gahmen is like the US MNCs and their greedy investors… the relentless pursuit of growth at all costs.

If they can find a way to link ubin to main island by roads, they will touch ubin. If not quite inconvenience if need to take ferry to main island and no one will buy even they build housing there.

You see even sentosa has road that link to the main island, so staying in sentosa is not inconvenience.

There were once plans to develop Ubin and Tekong into residential. Even got MRT line and all.

Think it's just a matter of time.

My place used to be about 100m to "nature", but then in recent years they took the bulldozers to "nature" to build more BTO.

Promises like that are meaningless.
