Gone are the 90's solid German Cars like the Mercedes Benz W124.

DW has a video on that. I think last of the well built merc.

Lexus lo

Am impressed. Citron n Peugeot fare better then Audi n VW.

and lately some rumours of VAG mention that the ecu security is so tight that now u have to bring to agent dealer just to change the brake pad.

If that’s true, there’s going to be quite a number of 2022 cars going lelong soon

You are too serious. I look at the list with a pinch of salt.

But some things are true. German cars in the past really can run forever if properly taken care.

Now a lot of unproven tech and mechanical designs are in their cars. And when parts fail and they do fail early it is at the expense of the car owner. Car nuts are now going back to old cars like classic Porsche and merc. They are doing restomod on these cars because they are actually better build with less problems than modern cars. You dont need the digital stuff in the car and just enjoy the drive.

Funny thing is car buyers are attracted by many and large digital screens in the car. As if their iphone ipad are not enough, need more screens in their faces. Nobody look at what's underneath the hood.

Whats mentioned here I have Basically covered in my Earlier post.

Classic?

Yes,used to owns a 124 but not as mentioned here ,Reliabliyy ,Built to Last ,Blah blah.

No no not dat sort.

I Juzz wans sumthing dat I can  Nvr be able to afford in ‘89.

Mid 200k plus is seriously huge money .than.

Everytime I drive those ,not realli dat often.

I can imagine myself seeing Black/White images on the windscreen.

Go Classic where yr Passion takes u ,not bcos ,it’s more Mechanical ,Less issue.

If y dun put some time on yr Ride ,issues will arises.

Dats a Fact.

Please do not buy Porsche, quality very bad.

I think I should use this ranking selfishly - too many Porsches recently, cannot get a nearer service date!

but would you buy the alternative.. ?

The basic reason why VAG cars are popular and easy to service is none other then the fact that they sponsor cars to ITE to have the next generation of student knows enough of the tech.

And when the mass adoption of students knows or are more familiar with Audi and VW, the workshop boss has less barrier to hire and getting the newbies to repair the cars.

Parts for citroen and peugeot parts are still 3 to 6 months waiting time. But the cars looks good both inside and out.

I suspect the alternatives are still destine for the brave and the adventurous

I think alot of High End German Cars used Handphone to Lock & Unlock Cars, time to change to Vertu Platinum Phone.

Don't need phone, some are already looking like a phone, so chunky with a big display.

Yes. It is on the air intake cam shaft end but not so complex and prone to failure. And it doesnt use needle bearings.

Both Valvetronic and Valvematic removed the requirement for a camshaft.

Both also use motor for valve lift.
